We are getting our winter all at once it seems. First an Ice storm then some very heavy Snow - up to 40 inches they say. Then a few days to clean out when it will start all over again - all while in the single digits (an minus). So I've pulled my Civil War fabrics out. Hey, we'll be waging a war against the weather so why not a war with fabric? I have three projects in progress with these totes; maybe I'll empty them.
The next step on my "Book Hop" project is thirty 9-patches. I got a start and.....
the rest have been cut, paired, and ready to stitch. These should go quickly as I can just chain them thru the machine until completed.
Then I'll work on more of those Broken Dishes - I'm half way there. I'm sure I'll need to cut some more.
My third project is a miniature using the left overs from these two projects - using up every last prescious bit of fabric.
My furkids are not liking this very cold weather and have already been growling out at the ice storm this morning - they disappear when I get the camera out, so I'll poke a little fun at them.
Stay safe and warm folks,
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

You gave me a laugh this morning-thanks..;)))
your civil war fabrics look lovely...hugs, Julierose
I read about your weather. Sounds awful. Staying in and sew is the right choice.
Stay warm. Love the cartoon,
What a cat cartoon! I, too, would be inside, coffee made, and fabrics ready to play with. Keep warm.
None of ever relish the idea or reality of being stormed in. However, I would love it if my daughter got stormed in here in OK. She hasn't been home in a long time and that was just an overnight jaunt when her best friend got married. She's worried about me and the severe depression that I've been fighting so she's home to check on me. She got here late last night and is flying back to Albuquerque on Monday evening. The only down side is that she needs to be back at school on Tuesday morning and her boys are going to miss her desperately. She's lying on the couch resting and I'm on my laptop as usual. I have no umph to do anything and that's my norm. Either on the laptop or asleep. My doctor did a referral for a psychiatrist yesterday and the first available appointment is 4-17. Geez! No wonder people are going nuts! LOL I love your Broken Dishes blocks. I did ask DD if we could go through boxes of sorority t-shirts of hers to see what she really wants or doesn't want this weekend. Maybe that will give me some umph to think about the only quilt that she has asked me to make for her. I love the cat cartoon. I miss my kitties and am not ready for another. With my fibromyalgia I could not stand a kitty treading on me.
Love the cat cartoon!! Stay safe in that ice and snow, we are habing very hot weather here!! Lovely projects happening.
We are getting the snow after you. Ugh....gotta put crock pot of soup on so i can shovel and make dinner at the same time. Hoping to sew a little too.
Sorry about the weather but it does mean guilt free sewing time and I see you are using it wisely.
Stay warm and enjoy the stitching time. You have so many fun projects in the works. How do you keep them all straight?
So, once again I tried to comment via my phone over the weekend but the comment disappeared. Not sure why my phone doesn't like your blog but you know I always do!! If I can recall what I was trying to say...the tiny pic in my blog feed made the bin of neutrals on the left look like a casserole. LOL. I hope you didn't get snowed in too bad - we had a normal storm of about 12" - which was disappointing for all the prognosticated doom and gloom. I liked watching the eclipse last night and really enjoyed the sun today but the -27 windchill played havoc with the furnace at work. The poor thing just can't keep up when it's that cold as my office is in an big, old stone and marble ex-bank building. Iv'e been drinking cocoa simply to keep my fingers warm!
More winter headed both our ways (-6 here as I type this). Hopefully our winter will be over soon. Now that I'm working, I have to get out in this stuff every day. I'd rather be in my sewing room.
