A Scrappy Thursday

I did no sewing at all yesterday.  It was a full day in the kitchen processing vegies and getting them into the freezer.  Of course you then have a LOT of pots, pans, utensiles, etc.. that have to be washed up and an entire kitchen scrubbed down.

This was the small pile of fabrics in the little baggy in Mom's bagged quilt and was for a totally different project.

There were a lot of blades cut and partially pieced, but no pattern or template so I had no idea where this was going.  Sew - I just stitched them together and will turn this into a pillow top.

The rest of the pieces I will use for this block.  I know it as the Cactus Blossom, but could have other names.  I'm sure I can get 20 blocks from this pile and then can see what is in my stash (I know I have some of this) and get another 5 made as well as add to setting, borders.

My daughter sent me this - she's created a monster.  Hannah learning to use Mom's new super, duper new sewing machine.  I can't wait to see what she is creating here.

We are expecting some really bad storms today, but nothing compared to the Gulf.  My prayers are with all in this huge storm's path.

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Stay safe in the storm. I love your pinks. I’m always surprised at how many women/quilters dislike pink. It’s one of my favorite colors.

I love those fabrics Sharon. I think Barbara called them pink, but they look lavender to me. They will make a beautiful quilt though.
I haven't heard the weather, but hubby said a Hurricane is supposed to hit Louisiana and will be worse than Katrina. I hope not. That one was pretty bad and we got some horrible weather from it.
I have been playing with the HST's that you sent me in between other projects. I now have over 20 Star blocks made and they are sooo pretty. Thank you! I love these.

Hannah is intensely focused on her work. At least you are guaranteed that your stash will be lovingly adopted. We had 2.2" of rain on Thurs. afternoon, but it was needed. Some flooding in surrounding areas where there was more rain and high winds. Guess that's the part that was headed toward you.

Hannah is going to be just like her grandmother and great-grandmother.
