The first bunch of placemats are now finished and I have the next bunch prepped. If you are just trying out your FMQ these are a nice size project to practic on. A simple meander chaining these thru the machine and they were done in minutes. I went with a binding edge - cleaner finish and it used up more fabric. But I am going to play with something new (and old) today.
My daughter brought me a bag of scraps from her quilting room and rather than have it sit, time to get making. Just seeing this colorful pile of goodness makes me smile. I am sure I can get thirty 12" cheerful log cabin blocks out of all of this. Her rather new scraps (she's a new quilter) going into a new project/
BUT first I have to take care of this mess. I had used this machine to finish up that last quilt of the year and then jumped right into those placemats - I knew this would be - yuck! It's the beginning of a New Year - have you cleaned, oiled and put in a new needle for the year? Your machine will love you for it.
Be sure to see what other 'making' is going on HERE .
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

I have a couple of machines that need cleaning and oiling. Have fun with those log cabin blocks.
Machine cleaned and oiled but I should replace needle and also a new rotary cutter blade.

Wonderful place mats, that is a lot of scraps to work through! I have changed the needle, must do the clean out!
Thanks for the reminder... I must do a clean out too!
