A Little Love
Since my camera has 'died' (batteries are on the way), I need to share a little love. This is the time of year when my furkids have their annual check up and shots. Bella has not forgiven me yet!

Monday Making
I had a very productive weekend. I guess waiting for that commission work has me set on fire to get as much done as possible. First I got the next block for the Harry Potter QAL. The train was a lot of little pieces and even with lots of starch, it is a little 'warped'. Hopefully it will straighten out once put into it's row.
These four blocks go into that row. Next we start the 'Harry' lettering. Getting excited to see this one all together - even if I am unfamiliar with the story and characters, it is making my grandson happy.
Bella is rarely seen as she hates the camera. Yes, grumpy cat lately (shhh, she goes to the Vet Weds for annual shots). She seemed rather drawn to the rust colors I'm playing with. I wanted to catch up on the 'Threadology' blocks.
I really like this star block pattern and could make a whole quilt sometime down the road with it.
You can't go wrong with the classic Churn Dash block. This is a quick block, easy math block, great scrap buster block, and looks so different when turned on-point.
I even de-constructed the cross stitch piece. The old sashing will be cut down into my barrel system and the backing went on the shelf. The batting was tossed - that crappy old extra 'puffy' poly stuff I refuss to use. More than likely I will hit my homespuns once I get inspired to finish each up into their own minis.
What I need to work on today is this large tote of light scraps. I will cut what I need for two in-progress projects and for a new project. Anything not suitable for those or too small will get chopped for the barrels. I would like to get these down in size to fit into one of the shoe box totes.
Is this not one bad ass mama?!! This is my daughter who is playing on a New York Women's tackle football team. In all my wildest dreams, I would not have expected this. BUT she has always been head strong, heart strong, physical, and determined. Heck, she ran the Boston Marathon!. I wouldn't mess with her.
And this has to be a first! We are a sponsor and got our Shop as a jersey patch. My daughter told me they announced the sponsors at the home game (which they won) - must have given them all a laugh.
Off to grab my rotary, rulers, and tackle some scraps.

A Windy Week
As the winds blew outside, I was a breeze in the sewing room as well. The commission hasn't come in yet so I took advantage to get some things done. First I pulled my Aqua tote for the RSC19 - not a lot in there. AND my little containers - the button blocks for the Temcula Quilt Co QAL which I am working 10 of each color way instead of their 6 - and the RSC19 Chandelier Bead Blocks which I am, also, doing 10 of each color way.
Set with the light background......
Set with the dark background. I'm very excited about these two quilts in progress.
A huge (and very heavy) box of fabric was delivered. I took advantage of Connecting Thread's Extra Wide Backing Sale and think I have enough now to complete all those flimsies.
I loved this new line of theirs as well - 'Clementine's Blonnet' - and got the strip set to make one of those jelly roll rugs and the FQ bundle is for a fall project. I'm trying to do/learn a new technique' each month thru the year. I have a couple of projects that were taught at our guild meeting, but will wait to share those next week after I show & share at our next meeting.
I just need to hit a Kona Sale and my retail therapy for the year is done.
I'm trying to finish up my 'Diamonds' Hop project; hoping to have it pieced today and quilted this weekend. Trying to get as much done as possible before the commission comes in.
The high winds have had me in high gear with stitching, but I really hope the weather calms down. I actually had to tie my one door fast as the winds were trying to carry it off with Dorothy and Toto!

A New Month - A Busy Month

I guess it's time to make the list for the month, and it is going to be a very busy month. If I don't have that list to check things off, I will forget something - and that won't be good.
First I know the new color for RSC is Aqua and I have enough of that for the Chandelier Bead Blocks. Those usually just take a day of play.
I have saved the patterns for the Threadology quilt along with Fat Quarter Shop. I wanted to use the fabrics left from the Barbara Brackman "Queen Victoria's Children" QAL. Now that the Queen is done, I am free to cut into those FQs and scraps for this project. I have the Churn Dash block to catch up on and the newest just came out. This is a project that will be played with when there is time - easy enough to catch up again.

It's time to pick another OMG and I am using this to finish up those PIGS.
I won't have time to add a cross stitch piece this month, so I chose a very old piece that needs to be taken apart. I think I will make these into individual minis. I discovered this piece in my Mom's things when we did her 'clean out' in the fall. I did the cross stitch for her, she never finished it into the wallhanging.
I must have done these at least 20 yrs. ago (or more). They are too cute to be lumped into one, so making them into their own little display will make me happier.
** linking up with OMG - April **

I will be participating in the Diamond Hop. Working on a project that has been on my 'bucket list'.

I mixed lists last month! Yes, I will be hosting on H2H on the 21st in APRIL (not March). My post is in draft with Sarah, so this one is ready ahead of schedule. Geesh!!
And I hope to keep up with the Harry Potter QAL as my granson loves seeing these blocks as I finish them.
I have the two furkids to get to the Vet for annual check ups and shots. They get taken seperate days as Bella is a stressful, handful alone. Then I am vending as a local artisian at the Old Stone Fort during one of the Opening Days of the Easter Egg Exhibit. Throw a coupld of meeting in the mix. Busy......
I have another huge commission coming in which will take up a lot of sewing time. So I will have to catch my list for the month as I can. If something doesn't get done, there is always catch up time next month. I will not fret over it - it is suppose to be fun.
Did you get an April Fools Joke today? Mother Nature pulled one on us as it dropped 30 degrees from the day before - windy, cold, snow. Ah, Spring - where are you?

Sharon
