Change of Winds
We literally went to a drop of over 20 degrees overnight! I love the cooler weather, but my body has trouble adapting to sudden 'pressure' changes. The hillside trees are not only getting a little more color, but the winds that night sent a lot of leaves flying.
My Juki must not like sudden changes either - she is acting up more and more to the point of being impossible to work with. It's that infernal motherboard that no one will listen to me about. I have a few essentials to pick up later today to finish my last commission piece - so change of winds so to speak. I will work on the next clue of the Sapphire Mystery.
My little back-up machine can handle these simple seams. You get use to a machine and all the perks. I had to tape the 'seam' mark and getting use to controlling speed via how much 'lead' you put on the foot pedal - and miss the needle up/down function. But this little guy will at least keep the work flow going.
Sometimes we have to adapt to the change of winds,

It's amazing how quickly you can get spoiled by the little things. My newest machine is the first one I've ever had with needle up/down, and I don't know how I ever lived without it!
We went from 7 record setting 90+ degree days, to 73 degrees. Next week, we get back in the mid to upper 80's. I want my fall temps to come and STAY around.
I hope you Juki 'gets better soon'. Having your machine with all extras out of action or below par is not good news.
glad you have a back up machine. it takes a little getting used to switching machines. ask my singer 99, my 221, my Janome and my Pfaff LOL they have all heard new swear words ha ha
needle up or down, I love that on my Bernina. Change of atmosphere, is your Juki in a warm room? I know years ago I had another Bernina, and it was in a downstairs room, and I had a heap of bother with it, we finally thought the oil was not getting warm enough, and when I brought it up to the living area, went like a dream, Just a thought. So glad there is a back up waiting in the wings.
At least you can still be productive.
Hope you get your machine sorted out soon, Sharon. Lucky you have another machine to use.
That is so frustrating when your machine doesn't work right. We noticed it seemed quite cold last night. Had to turn on our electric blankets. Fun being in the same state with you!
Yay....cooler this morning here too! At least for a few days. sorry you are fighting the machine goblins.....and that no one will listen to you. Had that experience myself, and it is maddening. I love the features of ease with my Janome.....but the Featherweight is always handy to have.
Finally cooler here, too. I hope you get your machine warmed up and back to sewing.
Switching between machines can be frustrating. I finally bought an inexpensive Baby Lock as a back-up to my faithful mechanical Bernina, but getting used to the differences takes a mental reset. We've cooled down here, too. Drizzly today.
My back-up machine is a Brothers also. I think I paid less than $200 new about 7 years ago. I do the tape thing for the seam allowance and go through all the dances you did to get ready to sew with it. It's better than having a machine go down and you don't have a back-up!
Our weather sure is on a roller coaster ride lately. Who knows what it means for our winter forecast.
