I hope you are digging into your old posts and joining in - this is so fun to not only look back into our own past, but see how others have evolved in their quilting. Be sure to visit Val's Quilting Studio.
This is the first quilt that came to mind for Farm quilt (and I've made alot of them being on a farm and in farm country) and my early post and more about this quilt can be found HERE
This quilt is my favorite and the only quilt I kept for myself for a long time. It was a QAL with Susan - PatchKat - Life on the Bayou and called "All Points North and South". If you visit Sue's blog, you will see that she lost her struggle with cancer and passed on Memorial Day, so this quilt becomes even more sentimental to me. You can find the original post HERE.
Hi Sharon, lovely work you have done and I am so sorry to hear of your friends passing.xx
Your post from 2011 is full of interest; that soup and bread look good. The All Points quilt has lots of sentiment sewn into it; no wonder it's a keeper.
What a great quilt! I would keep it, too!
I checked out your farm quilt and fell in love with it! Thanks for your wonderful support of Tuesday Archives!! I appreciate that so very much!! :)
I remember Sue, her blog and recent passing. So sad.
How could I forget your Country Cousins quilt and the recipe for funnel cake! Yes. I posted a comment on that post in 2011. Such a sweet quilt. But it was probably the YUMMY food pictures that grabbed my attention first. I remember you often posted crock pot recipes on your blog. Encouraged me to pull my crock pot from storage. We use it often now, especially when it rains and in the fall, winter and spring months : )
I loved the two quilts you shared Sharon. I loved how the Country Fair quilt had so many "firsts" when it was made and how now you can imagine what the skills you've acquired long the way would add to the project today. Every quilt really is a journey!
I had a similar experience to the one you had with the "All Points" quilt when I found out that the designer of a quilt I had just finished passed recently. Another reminder that our quilts are not only memorials for our own lives but the lives other people too.
I really like your Country Cousins quilt! But I especially like the All Points North and South quilt! I love plaids! I was so sorry to hear about Sue. I am glad that you kept this one.
Very fun quilts. I love your All Points North quilt, I'm a big plaid fan.
