May For Me

I have used the 'unplugged' plan in past May For Me years.  Simply take a day to turn off.  No TV, no sewing, no computer, no phone (emergencies only).  I want to take a day of either outdoors, reading, or maybe some travel time.

The Quilters Quest Shop Hop will be held on May 8 - May 11th this year, with the theme of "Welcome to my Garden". Visit a participating shop to collect a fat quarter and a pattern at each. When you purchase a passport, you will receive a windowed tin and a packet of seeds to start your 2014 adventure.

Visit all 11 shops to be eligible for one of three gift certificate packages, plus a GRAND PR...IZE - a quilt retreat! All shops will have daily door prizes and give-a-ways. Remember to bring return address stickers with you! This year all the shops will again be collecting food for the local food pantry, too.

Participating Shops are:
Adirondack Quilts, Glens Falls, NY;
Brookside Quiltworks, S Egremont, MA;
Foofsique Quilting, Chatham, NY;
Gloversville Sewing Center, Gloversville, NY;
Joyful Quilter, Glenville, NY;
KC Fabrics, Saratoga Springs, NY;
Log Cabin Fabrics, Selkirk, NY;
Pumpkin Patch Quilts, Lee, MA;
Quiltbug, Esperance, NY; Style Fabrics, Kingston, NY and
The Yardstick, Cobleskill, NY.

And of course we have Mother's Day here in the USA on the 11th - lot's of things going on all over, so I have a big decision to make where my travels will take me.

Schoharie Sloughters’ Car Show
Flea Market and Craft Show
Saturday, May 24th
8 AM to 4 PM
Village of Schoharie

I know this is a Saturday, but I can change my unplugged day.  And you can find what 'sloughter' means HERE.

And there will be many events on this weekend, both local and away.

So unplug,
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Every Sunday is a day to unplug somewhat. I do check my computer and read a few Blogs. I'm not sure what the kids have planned for Mother's Day. Hope your's is great. Sorry I have 2 linky's this week, please delete one.

Unplugged is such a nice idea, I was going to say we do that every Sunday when we work in the yard but here I am reading blogs, LOL. Easier said than done.

I'd love to go somewhere. Unfortunately, I don't think that's going to happen any time soon.

I'd love to have an uplugged day. I don't watch tv now, so that wouldn't be an issue. But not being able to do something productive would probably make me crazy unless I left the house. Ha!

Interesting story about 'Sloughter'. Cool cars and a craft show are right up my ally.

Good idea to unplug once in a while. I did that a few times this winter and really enjoyed it. Happy Mother's Day to you too!
