Did that title get you scratching your heads? I've been scratching mine all week as well. I hate the mess that Blogger created. Missing long time friends and reads. And having trouble even posting. As muddled as this pile of blocks and sashings.
This is my June OMG and the plan was to get all those stars done - DONE. I'm trying for a bonus of getting sashings and even first border completed for a flimsy. Thiere is still time.
I did find the original project blocks - the reason I bought the bundle. This was a QAL with Barbara Brackman a few years ago. I don't like this look and will be taking this apart for a different setting.
I was very excited when I won a pair of cutting mats from OMG - Ecopec Co. Things were fine until recently I thought I had a bad rotary blade as I had 'notches' of fabric not cutting clean. New blade (Olfa cutter & blade) and still happening. I noticed that when I cleaned my mat the little blue specks and then looked closer at the mat. Yes, the top layer is slowly sluffing off making 'gullies' so cuts are bad.
And can you see that? It has a huge warp happening causing wavy cuts. I have used this table since the beginning of quilting - flat! My original Olfa mat sat here for years with no problem - it's returned by the way. Had I paid for these mats, I would be very upset. I won them so a lesson learned - product tested and it only lasted a few months.
On the brighter side - the new Hop starts Monday!
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

A cutting mat should last for years, this is not good at all, I tried one of the new Olfa endurance blades, wonderful on cotton, not good on merino knit fabric, but it is lasting a lot longer than the normal blade. Hope you get a replacfement map that lasts longer.
Wow, that mat should have lasted longer than that. I have a green one that is a an Olfa brand I've been using for several years. It is time to replace it now, as it has those same kinds of gullies on the sizes I cut most. But it lasted a good long time.
I really need to replace both of my larger mats, but keep putting it off. Then I made the mistake of buying some off-brand rotary blades on Amazon. Fortunately I had another pack of name brand so I could replace the faulty one before quilt retreat. I've also don't received notices for several blogs I follow and it's hard to remember to track down the missing posts unless I see them on a linky. And now my Google news feed keeps freezing up since the last Chrome update. At least we finally got a smidgen of rain yesterday.

That’s good info about your cutting mat. Mine is getting very worn too…to the point I almost can’t see the numbers any more. Might have to invest in a new one soon.
I've never heard of that brand of cutting mat before, but from now on, I'll remember the name. I definitely don't want to make the mistake of purchasing one of them.
Sorry about the mats. I've had other brands that aren't very good. I've worn my Olfa mats out, but I'll still wait to get a new one until I remember to use my 40% off coupon from Joanns (when the mats are not on sale).
Thanks for the warning about the mats, sorry you had this happen. So exciting to win and then so disappointing to have them be defective. Like Nancy J I like the Olfa endurance blades.
Thanks for the heads up about the mat. I'll definitely get something else when the time comes that I need to replace mine.
I hear ya about the system changes that are causing havoc!
I miss the blogs I used to be able to follow so easily!
