Scrappy Wednesday - Late

Wednesday was a day of more 'un-sewing' than sewing.  I had to take a break.  I did get the next temperature rosette together - finally in the right order.  Those are a dusty blue, but look white - ah well.

This was my true nemesis for stitching!!  I made 20 blocks and do you know - it was the 20th block that I took apart three times and re-stitched wrong three times - again.  I walked away.  Then I went back to it and even though I had those blocks laid out, yes - I turned some the wrong way when I attached sashings.  I'm sure you folks have had one of those days or projects.  Just out to bite you!!  BUT, it is at the stage of the final border and as much as I detest borders - that puppy is getting on this so it is finished.

I did get this lovely in our Quilt Guild postcard swap at Tuesday night's meeting.  I have been yearning for my flowers and how nice I got this sweet postcard.  Plus, it was made by our longest term member which means a lot to me.

Love the post card...such a beauty.
And I feel your frustration over the quilt blocks that refuse to go together correctly, and then jump up and move when sashing is attached so they are facing the way......oh, yeah, I have done those. Such evil thoughts would float in my head as I tried to rip and fix. So glad you are determined to conquer this one. Sew on:)

I'm soooo sorry about the naughty blocks. I would have walked away as well. But yes, it's best to get the borders on that sucker and sew in all the bad juju that was working against you so it can't leak into other projects. LOL.

Lovely flowers, and a close up view when I clicked, even more so. Wrong way, no easy way but to unpick and do again, but more than once??? I would be so annoyed, then realise nothing to do but get it right.

Lovely flowers! We've all had days like that! Just best to walk away for a bit to clear your head. It can come right in the end!

You still get a nice blue cast on those light hexies, it will be a nice accent in the final quilt. I hate those days when the brain doesn't connect with our hands. Happy stitching this weekend.

What a pretty postcard. And, yes, I’ve definitely had those days.

I can't decide if it's better to set the problem block aside until the next day, or to keep at it so I start fresh the next day. I usually keep trying, but that does often lead to a second or third mistake. But you are now on your way to completion.

I love the postcard. The flowers are a real pick me up with the weather we've been having.

Oh man you did have an out of sorts day didn’t you. Yes...on those days it’s best to just walk away. Sounds like you have a fun guild.

That postcard is lovely!

Your weather still looks pretty cold, although it makes a pretty rosette.
