I'll be joining Kathy today for some handwork - turning off that machine and slowing down.
I have the stem to stitch down on the Sweet Gum Leaf block for the 'Westering Women' BOM. There was a lot of discussion on the templates not printing out correctly and size of finished blocks too small, so I went with this one on Quilter's Cache. No headaches and it came out perfect.
And then there are those circles. Those 6 will put me a couple of days ahead of schedule, but I like to work 6 at a time. My row that can be sewn together and then attached to the section - set 6 by 6. This project really excites me and I already know how I want to quilt it.
A reminder - today is the first of several guest bloggers with tutorials and tips, so please go visit HERE.
Hi Sharon i love your leaf block and those circle blocks are so cute, well done my friend xx
What.....you already have a quilting plan for those circles? Way to go! I have a couple of layout ideas but that's as far as I got. Love your perfect leaf block.
I've read about the problems with that leaf, you're so smart to go find it somewhere else :)
Have fun with that slow stitching.
I am so far behind stitching my circles although I have a nice stack already cut. Thanks for the link to the nine patch tutorial.
I love Quilters Cache patterns. They always come out great. You have a beautiful leaf there. Enjoy those circles... I can't wait to see how you quilt them.
Thanks for the link for the Sweet Gum Leaf. I was going to try and enlarge the pattern. Your circles are looking great!
Your leaf block is perfect, as usual.
Myra offered a great pattern and tutorial for the H2H participants.
I like your leaf block. Glad I read your blog today. I am making the 'Westering Women' BOM also. Have not made the leaf yet. Will be very careful when I sew my block.
Thank You Kathleen Mary
