Not a Lost Weekend

I've come to the conclussion that I need a better digital camera - 20 photos each by two people and they all look like this.  Any who - I am doing some secret sewing with this fun stuff that has been on the shelf too long.  In fact, the "Fox and The Houndstooth' by Andie Hanna for Robert Kaufman is back in print.  Doing some more testing for Bea Lee - her patterns are now vailable on  Connecting Threads.  This one is actually completed and ready for basting/quilting so I can get to the next set of patterns.

And half of the living/dining room has been cleared!  Half of that ugly, old sectional went out the door!!  The other half will follow in the Spring.  The thought of moving my sewing upstairs got nixed - one small slip on the stairs (no injuries, just scared the patoots out of me), plus I wouldn't hear my Mother in need or anyone coming for the home shop.

The furkids have been really confused by all this - Bella freaks with any kind of change.  I had to put the quilt rack (yeah, that's a tall baby) back as Moe just sat there and stared - like it would materialize I quess.  As soon as it was back, he hopped in for a long nap.

And the Hall is a terrible mess because things got dumped there.  So the next few days will be tackling the piles - find the right place to put it, pass it on, or throw it out.  Bindings and circles didn't get done over the weekend, so I will catch them up inbetween the pile sorting.

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

can see it is best to keep the sewing room downstairs, glad you did not get it all moved before you changed your mind. Best of luck sorting everything out, must keep your furry friends happy

Better safe than sorry, plus keeping the kitties happy is important. Good luck with you sorting and organising, it will be well worth the effort. I about half way through mine and I now know where things are again and have some space.

Are you still going to get a long arm even though you're staying downstairs, it sounds like the slip was a rethink this warning, you could have made the move and then found out it was all wrong.

Yes, I know this is a lot of work but I do think it is the right move for you. Less stair time means safe sewing time...plus Mom is near by. Wish I could lend a hand or two to help sort :)

I hate it when pictures blur on me! I love that fox fabric -- what a cute selection of prints!!! :)

Sounds like a wise decision to keep your sewing area downstairs. It is funny how the fur kids don't like change. Our female dog notices right away if anything has been moved and will growl at until we reassure her.

This is the time of year I try to clean out and organize Sharon so you're just doing a winter clean out. :) I would hate to have to climb a flight of stairs to get to my sewing room. I think I just hate stairs but also, I've never been graceful so I would surely fall. blessings, marlene

Oh fun! Can't wait to see what you do with that fox fabric Sharon!!! I do not envy you moving things around and getting settled back in - UGH!!! I know you'll be glad when you're done - and the kitties will be very happy to have order restored :)

You may need to check the settings on the camera. Even the point and shoots have various modes on them that can be accidentally changed. Hopefully that's the source of the blurry photos. Another option may be to add a little light. My guy got one of those really bright rechargeable LED work lights last year for Christmas and he didn't have a use for it. I'm going to see how it works in lighting up my dark sewing room when I have to take photos at night.

Good luck with your room changes. Having a sewing room were you need it is important.
