Orange You Glad
Oh, I heard that joke so many times when my kids were little. This month's color for RSC15 is Orange and I wisely picked up some orange FQs last month when my SIL and I went to visit that new LQS. I don't do orange, have only scraps of it from gifted bags, and absolutely none on my yardage shelves.
I still owe you a tutorial on these houses - hopefully when I get a chance to breathe. I was in a hurry to get these blocks done so my SIL could use the large table I work on to lay out her newest quilt for basting (yeah, I am quilting that one too).
And the stars that go with those houses. This one is getting close to the number of blocks I need for a finish.
To add some more Orange for Feline Friday - Bella. Now this is the same size tote that Moe was 'half' asleep in. Look at that Yoga move to fit in so nicely!
I got all my orange bricks cut for the Then and Now (I think that's what it is called) quilt, but I will have to add the white squares to them at another time. Then I have enough to put this one together - sometime.
I am spending the day with my daughter and grands - soon they are all back to school and activities so it will be hard to get together again. I'm taking a basket of apples in the hopes of a trade for some of her vegies.
Have a grand weekend,

I've never seen a cat yet who could pass up a box. Any kind of box. Short, tall, plastic, cardboard...
You've got some lovely orange blocks there! I got so excited about orange this summer that I fear I used it all up. Drat, I may have to go buy more.
A great time of the year for your orange blocks. Especially love those stars...so vibrant!
I'm the same with orange scraps...but I should be able to find enough for my RSC blocks too. Yours look really good. Xox
Orange can be lots of fun! Funny kitty!
I like your orange blocks and I'm sure you will have lots of fun with the family. This weekend is going to be a beautiful one.
Looks like a fab and varied collection of oranges to me! A new LQS!! How fun for you! How funny the 2 cats are with their box techniques. LOL
Ditto here using orange....but yours look great! Will wait for the house tut.....hanging on till you can breath!
Me three about the organge fabric, but your blocks look sweet. I love the heart block especially. Enjoy your time with your family. Love the orange in the box!
Pretty blocks and don't cats just love boxes, drawers and cupboards! :)
I love orange - the colour of autumn leaves, pumpkins, oranges, some sunsets. Where would we be without it? Now on to quilty things - your blocks have such a nice range of orange colour and will look wonderful, that punch of warm colour, in your quilt. Now orange you glad you made them?
Very cute work.
You can tell the grandkids the knock knock joke if they haven't already heard it, but they may drive you crazy with it, ;). Love the extra orange you threw in, Bella actually look comfortable compared to Moe's pose.
Fun orange houses and stars to match! I like orange it's so cheerful! You have a Dutch surname, but it's a good job you don't live here if you don't like orange; it's our national colour, and every now and then the country erupt with orange - flags, bunting, clothes! There's no escape!
I really like that orange heart. Your stars and houses look good to. I have to remember to buy orange fat quarters too, so I have something to use when Angela announces the color is orange.
Those little houses are cute.
Not a huge orange fan, but I do like your choices of fabrics and designs. Love Bella - wish I were that flexible.
Orange can be very useful. Maybe it will grow on you. I may just join the RSC next year, assuming there is a RSC16, and use your heart block. I'm amazed at the number of projects you juggle (and finish).
Great orange blocks. I was short on orange until I made the Sunshine on my Shoulders quilt. I was picking up orange fat quarters at various quilt shops while we traveled. Plenty of orange now. It's surprising how one can fill up on a certain color just by making one quilt.
I wasn't an orange fan until the RSC. Now I want some orange in all my scrappy quilts. Love your orange blocks. My goodness your plate is full. I don't see how you find time to sleep. Take your time on the house block tutorial. Looks like a good RSC block for next year. A good row quilt blocks.
Difficult to see how Bella made it into that box.Great picture.
Orange you glad you have an orange cat? I miss mine. Good job on the blocks. Not much orange at my house, either.
Your found adorable orange fabric. I love your heart and house blocks. Enjoy your daughter and grands.
Love your orange collection especially the fluffy one. Have a wonderful holiday weekend with the family.
Love your little house both simple but different. The quilt for your mother is a wonderful idea, a true remembrance quilt.
Looks like your orange additions have served you well. Such bright and happy blocks.
LOL - I thought Bella was in the exact same bin that Moe had napped in and was wondering what you keep in there that's so attractive to kitties.
Love all your orange blocks Sharon! I've been liking orange more and more these last few years.
Those oranges are so pretty. I feel autumn is coming just by looking at your beautiful blocks.
I especially like the orange heart. Seeing houses is making me want to add some to my monthly block piles...
Fun with orange. I always LOVE orange!
Yummy orange blocks... and kitties!
Lovely orange blocks and cat!
