Monday Making

I finished up the quilting on this little postage stamp quilt and I now have to find something from stash to make binding to complete this.  I would pull from my left over binding drawer, but the last BIG quilt got all the good pieces.

This quilt (which will debut for Pets on Quilts) is slowly getting it's binding hand sewn down.  The plan is to keep it in sight so I will be encouraged to pick up that needle and add a few more stitches before I move on to the next project.  We are just getting hot and humid weather and having a quilt in your lap - augh!

Two rows of braids for the Let's Book It project have been finished.  If I want to stay on track with this one, today I need to finish up the other two rows.  Then the weekend will be dedicated to getting this into flimsy stage.

And I am writing notes, prepping, and packing up items for demontrating at one of the local museums - Palantine House - on Saturday, August 1st (12-4pm).  I will be hand quilting, applique, and some needle turn sample projects.  Along with information on period fabrics, blocks/patterns, and  notions. There will be a number of different period demonstrations going on - a fun family event.

Love the postage stamp quilt. But you know me and how I like to play with little squares. Are those 2" or 2.5" squares?
Let's Book it quilt is looking great!
Sounds like a fun family event in a couple weeks.

Augh...is right!! I'm piling my quilts that I don't need right away to save for binding in the Fall.

Those braids are gorgeous and the postage stamp is going to be stunning. I love the simplicity of a postage stamp quilt.

We are getting the sauna weather here too and as I sit with a quilt in my lap, the progress is getting slower and slower. Enjoy your museum presentation ... I'm sure the viewers will.

That braid is really beautiful, the neutrals make it so nice and calm. Pets on Quilts! I need to get busy.

I love your little postage stamp quilt. My grandmother used to make doll quilts like that for me. When I read your posts, I imagine her saying similar things as she sewed. Of course, she was doing everything by hand. I love getting little glimpses into her life. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with her, but her quilts are still with me.

I love postage stamp quilts. I need to use my scrapes to cute up a bunch of 2.5" squares. I like how you keep them in bins. Ready to use. I am in love with your braid quilt. Wow, I can't wait to see it finished!!
