I don't think I own a thing with an Argyle pattern in it these days - but I do remember as a kid having an ugly sweater I hated to wear. Now I see 4-patches and chains in this pattern.
Instead, I am playing with dots. So far I have kept up with the 365 quilt. I have made up half of my background 2-rail setting blocks so I can add the day's circle to it. And even if I fall behind on this at some point, it will all be there and I can at least cut a circle for the day - pin it, and then do them up with a Slow Sunday Stitching day.
And I cut all my white strips for the 'Dottie' pattern for my Let's Book It project. I switched from the white on white (when I opened it up I discovered it was an extra wide backing-saving) and pulled my faithful Kona White. I hope to get at least half the strip sets sewn today.
I was hoping to have one of my minis a finish, but I fell into another project. My Mom was trying to fix my aunt's 'quilt as you go' project without much success. She attached blocks while I attached rows. And yes, I got to put the binding on. This confirmed - I will never make a quilt with this method! Oh wait - I just did - sort of. My aunt will be surprised as she gave the blocks to my Mom to use elsewhere, pass on, or throw out - when she comes to sew next week we will give it to her.
And I have no furkid photos - they are in the dog house of late. Too much bickering between them has led to the flyswatter being out - must be the cold weather making them grumpy.

I had my 'slow stitching' day yesterday, so I best get to work today. I have the mini Amish ready for quilting. This will get a mix of machine and hand quilting And I love the mix of up/down and side to side strips - this is the baby to.................
this one. Waste not, I say. All the left overs gave me another sweet quilt. I have the back and batt ready for this one, too. If I don't get to her, there is always tomorrow.

The second bag of scraps had a lot of skinnies - some went into the string block bin and the others I used for a project out of the Miniature Quilts magazine. Strattas of 1" strips which not only produced the larger pieces, but rather than throw away the ends and extras away, I get a bonus project with them.
I'd show you the book project, but someone decided this was a great place to take a nap. I had some unexpected company, so Moe got his nap in while I had a lovely break. Sewing really skinny strips takes a lot of concentration!
I did manage to get the larger blocks into the flimsy stage - the black Kona is from my stash - hey there is a whole bolt of it, so use it. The smaller blocks will be worked up into a 3 x 4 setting and skinnier borders, but basically the same idea.
The small one will wait for Monday's play date and I will sort the rest of the little treasures from that bag, not sure there is enough of anything for another project in the book. Either just some random small blocks or chopping down into my scrap user system.

The animal cross stitch piece is at the point of needing those missing floss colors, so another project for Slow Sunday Stitching is needed.
Another piece that got tucked away. I checked all the floss colors and I am missing one - a color also missing from the other project. So this will be my slow time today - maybe I can find an old movie to watch (listen to), too.

I sorted thru the first baggy of goodies. Many were juvenile and novelty pieces which I don't really use (saved a couple of kitties though), but a local church group can use them and they will get passed on. I did come across a few blocks and some needed finishing. Found most of the pieces or substituted from the barrels. These all went into the mailing box - eventually to be sent off to Sarah's lovely group and made into some caring quilts.
These did grab my attention though! How Fun!! But someone cut all those dinos out and now to figure out how to use them. I'm thinking a glue stick and small zig-zag will work. I just have to pick up some fabric to play them on. Yes, play - not place. They're too fun. I'm thinking the Quick Strippie from Mary's Quilts will make a nice quilt for them.
I totally forgot about the Moda Sampler - I thought I was only 2 weeks behind and then the new ones came out - so 3 weeks. Two blocks each Friday and I usually wait every two weeks to catch them up. So I got real happy to be on my machine and finished those 6 blocks up. We are half way with this now.
And I made my first 365 block! Today was cold, occassional flurry, sometimes blue skies, then a white out, back to grey with small flakes. Think this one expresses my day. If this is new to you, visit HERE to see all the link ups.
This is how Bella spent the snowy day - yeah, Princess and the Pea with all those blankets piled up on the quilt rack (I just washed all of those). I think Moe was stretched out on the quest bed.
Since that first bag of scraps cleared out so quickly, I grabbed another. This looks like a lot of skinnies and bits - perfect for the weekend to play in the Miniature Quilts magazine with.
