Rain, Rain, Rain

We are seeing some sun today, but June has been almost as rainy as May (and April).  This is looking off my front porch and that front field has been nearly half underwater for the past 3 months.

With the rain, I worked on catching up on some things.  The 'Two Step' mystery blocks.  Yes, I managed to make large blocks without fainting.

The newest blocks for 'Patchwork Sampler' - my savior!  Small blocks with tiny pieces.

I have all the sections done for the next 'Yankee Diary' block and need to get this stitched .  Not sure I like the backward flag, but I know they had them in this era's quilts.

And SARAH has a sew-along with the popular 'temperature' quilts.  I will start mine on Summer Solstice and will be using this color chart as a quide.  I have gotten very behind on my hand stitching and need to reform to the machine gets turned off at set time and only needle/thread in hand time after.

I need to pull my color matching scraps - found an empty shoe box tote for this and have my hexie papers ready.

This is were I will be for Father's Day - Vending.  I'm hoping the weather holds.  I've scheduled just one show a month until November and this will be my last year vending.

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Lovely blocks, and the temperature chart, what a great way to go.

Love your blocks. Heat has set in here.....going to be a long hot summer. One show a month is probably just enough:)

Nice to see another temperature quilt in the planning stage! It is interesting seeing how people divide up the colours differently. You have some very fine changes of colour in the 30 - 60 range. In my quilt, that colour range only covers 5 degrees (C) and I am running out of different fabrics already.

Nice blocks! I look forward to seeing your temperature quilt progress. I am really enjoying this project.

I don't know what a temperature quilt is so I'll stayed turned to find out. All of your blocks look perfect, but your small ones and the basket are charming.

I can't wait to see your temperature quilt. With your drastic temperature changes, it will be much more interesting than mine.

See, this is where your funky weather works nicely, mine would be all orange and a year long one would maybe have a green thrown in. Once a month vending sounds right, are you stopping because of the changes happening?

It went from wet to HOT here in seemingly a week. We are back to rain today and cooler temps. Not complaining. You've got some fun blocks going. Hope the vending works out well for you today.

We've had a lot of rain for June too. Supposed to clear up today and be nice into the next two weeks. Mike hasn't even been able to mow the field since we've been back, and it looks just terrible.

We had gone 10 days with virtually no rain and then we had a 2" gully washer Friday night at dinner time. Flooded roads for a while. I've been following Sarah's temperature quilt. Will be interesting to see how yours differs.
