Bloggers' Quilt Festival : Fall 2011
I am pleased to make an entry into the Bloggers' Quilt Festival : Fall 2011. The hostess is Amy over at AmysCreativeSide. Take some time to visit the many lovely entries - you won't be disappointed!
My entry is 'Raggedy Friends' that was offered by the lovely Ms Kaaren at The Painted Quilt as a free block of the month. A delightful mix of Annie, Andy and their friends and shared loves. Combining wonderful stitcheries with scrappy block lay-out made for a cherished quilt. I chose to hand quilt with lots of hearts thru out the piece. And I searched for and saved lots of red buttons while working on this - for all those eyes and accents! *a few close ups*
Won't you consider joining in? AmysCreativeSide Bloggers' QUilt Festival - Fall 2011

Sharon

Congratulations on your entry, your quilt is simply beautiful! And hand quilting, how do you find the time!?
I do love this quilt. It is on my to do list to restart next year. All new materials. This was my 'learning' design and I was stitching on broadcloth as someone suggested. I HATED it...it is one of those projects I threw away. I have the designs and am ready to do again with proper materials. Yours is fabulous!
Hi Sharon, this is fun! I am enjoying visiting all the bloggers. I just love your beautiful quilt...and this one is hand-quilted! Yay! I keep thinking I'm alone in my handquilting, but I guess there are a few of us left! LOL
Your quilt is so interesting. I love a scrappy quilt! I also like your stitching!!
You did a marvelous job with this quilt -- I love it! I saved all the patterns as Kaaren published them and hope to make it some day. My daughter is a Raggedy Ann enthusiast. So perhaps for her. I'm glad you shared this! :)

SO reminded of my own raggedy ann and andy when i was young...they were hand made and I still have them! I also had story books I enjoyed reading. Your hand work is beautiful! Thanks for rejuvenating this post under our embroidery Tuesday Archives theme!
Love the Ann and Andy theme with the scrappy layout! Also love the button embellishment -- part of the design or your own addition? This looks like it was a fun project to do!
Sharon! I too love your Ann and Andy theme and am so glad this one got rejuvenated. (FIVE years ago....fun to see what you were working on then)
My Sister and I were working on this together - but have not gotten it finished. Awesome seeing it done.
