Cut The Scraps

Sarah @ Confessions of a Fabric Addict has a fabulous challenge for helping with that scrap problem.  Now as a scrap quilter, I don't want to use them up and I do have a very good working storage/management system.  BUT, I found I had an area that was in need of taming.

I have a lot of green.  Now this tote doesn't look that bad as I have worked some out of it, but I need to tame it more.

And I had a large donation of greens that are overwhelming the shelf.

Some sorting and some pressing starts - yes, I have a plan and pattern designed.

The cutting begins -  2.5" x 4.5" bricks for geese.  I need close to 300 of them, but I have plenty of greens to play with.

And those 'down to the last bit' pieces are getting cut for my barrel system which I use quite a lot.  It's a start.

Consider joining in - see what others have Linked Up for their monthly scrap challenge.

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

I love when you start a new project! Or finish an old one, for that matter. Your scrap play is always interesting to watch.

If I can stop making and saving scrap's my job would be half done. I have started to cut up my scraps into 2" and 3" squares as soon as I make something. Save on the large scrap bucket I have.

Great greens.....best vegetables ever! How did you know I was thinking about making geese for a future project? This looks great.

Every time I think I've cut all my scraps into usable units, I move something and find more. Think I'm part squirrel.

300 geese? I'll be waiting patiently to see what the plan is.

Looking forward to seeing your new green scrappy project. One of these days I'll get around to taming my scraps, for now, I'm focusing on getting the fabric closet lined out.
