Little Bit of Sewing

Just a simple stitch in the ditch and some straight lines in the tiny border and my little doll quilt from those JR cut-offs is finished.  It took me a while to remember where I had my dolly pattern, but once found she quickly went together and dressed in scraps from the JR quilt.

I wanted to take down my portable banquet table and move my Juki to the little side table (little spare machine tucked away).  In my clean up I wanted to put this UFO project into a tote of it's own.  I decided I could squeeze one more block in before the pick up.  It's not the same as the directions (which are poor) because this is another section that is listed with 3 different finished sizes depending which page you are reading , but it is together and waiting for it's companion blocks to be finished.

Yes, things are picked up - sewing machine not even plugged in either.  I'm busy with paper and computer work with up coming events and I can't get distracted with the 'itch' to sew.  Even hid that new bag of scraps that entered my door.

I had wanted to share this when Bea announced the release of the pattern, but our weather has been horrible.  As you can see the clip - anchored this as it was windy on a finally sunny day.  I had the pleasure of testing this pattern for BeaQuilter and it is available on her Etsy site.

This is my Pantone 'color(s)' for 2016 quilt.  I used a FQ bundle of Marcus Fabrics called 'Subtle Skies' by Faye Burgos with a mix of some other Marcus and stash.

And I have to give credit to my long armer, Barbara Rua, for doing such a lovely job on quilting this for me.

Remember the Quilt Qwazy Queens Blog Hop starts today - be sure to visit these ladies:

I am taking the weekend away from the blog to concentrate on some work and some company.

Hoping you enjoy International Quilting Day

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

love those little maple leaves. I have a UFO started somewhere with some 12 inch ones. I think I ran out of the background fabric so I need to find them and make them into something. oh the challenges we face.

Yeah, a doll! I've always loved how you make a matching doll. The quilt you made for Bea is gorgeous, the colors and the pattern work so well together.

Didn't we use to make the dress first and then the quilt? Lovely

That doll quilt set is so cute and I also love those leaves.

Your big quilts are beautiful finishes even in poor weather.
