Slow Sunday Stitching

I will be joining Kathy for some hand stitching time.  I have my step-outs for our next quilt guild meeting for a program on various techniques of applique (I'm demonstrating reverse applique).  So I thought I would put together a little piece that will incorporate all those techniques.  This is a start and has some more work to go.

I did get in a few minutes with my machine.  Not a lot of brown blocks to make for RSC15, but I love how this soft brown works in the wove heart.  I won't be able to show you how I was going to put together the houses and stars made thru the year with RSC15 as I decided I would rather donate all my blocks to Sarah's group.  They can have fun playing with them and I know they will quickly get used into a quilt that is sure to give someone much needed comfort.

Yesterday was our 'meet the artists' afternoon at the gallery and I hate to say, but the attendance was really poor.  I know a lot was going on in many communities, but really disappointed guild members did not support us.  The up side was a single Hall of Fame member (who traveled a long ways) came and in our chat, I found out she had a quilt frame for sale.  Now I definitely have to move my sewing into that upstairs HUGE  bedroom.

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

That is a warm and soft shade of brown. Sounds like your blocks are all going to a good home. A quilting frame! Now that sounds like fun.

Your applique block is very creative. I thought at first that it was a modern block of a Halloween moon; that must be my early morning interpreting powers on only one cup of joe. Your heart blocks will make a beautiful quilt.

I like the applique sampler, it's really different from what you usually make, are you enjoying it? Good choice for your RSC15 blocks, Sarah's group will make them into something wonderful and find them good homes.

The samper is a great idea, and I love the fabrics you've chosen.

What a lovely applique sampler. The fabrics and design work wonderfully together. And just in time for the new Star Wars movie, those circles remind me of the two moons of Tatooine. :-)

I love that top quilt. Sorry I'm not commenting much on posts. I'm trying to get caught up, after almost 3 weeks gone.
