You couldn't ask for the weather to be nicer. It was in the 70's (we've had some really cold days of late). Although the wind did blow all day, it made things flutter and dance for the occassion.
Just some of the smaller quilts were hung outside because of the winds.
Yup, a blurr in the wind - we did have to go un-wrap them a couple of times, but none came down or blew to the neighbors.
Thank you Stef for sending me some of your photos - the whole line...
and she braved my very steep front hill to snap the ones on this porch.
And since we weren't able to get out to catch the 'airing', she sent a photo of the quilts she had displayed in her yard. Isn't that a pretty setting? Look at the color coming in the tree!
WINNER
The winner of my 'See You in September' gingham give away is:
You are so prolific - I couldn't accomplish that much in a whole year and you did it in a summer. The quilt is wonderful with all the camping images. I loved the backing to go with it and the ditty bag, and pillow were just perfect.

I always love seeing quilts blowing in the breeze. The day looks beautiful.
Wind can certainly cause chaos sometimes! The quilts look so pretty outside!
How fun!! Makes me think of those days when we hung our sheets and then put them right on the bed and the wonderful smell as we drifted off to sleep!! Sharon, is that your fantasic house??
What a pretty site. Beautiful quilts blowing in the breeze on a beautiful day. Thanks for sharing.
It's still HOT here in OK. It's nice to see green grass. Even here in what is known as Green Country, it seems the grass is still fairly brown unless you own the water company. The beautiful green grass and the turning trees along with the brick house trimmed in a beautiful gray make beautiful backdrops for amazing quilts.
Wonderful, what a lovely day! They really were at one with nature weren't they, fluttering in the breeze?!
Oh wow! Absolutely gorgeous display of quilts!
The quilts look so wonderful displayed outside! I'm glad the weather almost cooperated for a beautiful fall airing.
thanks for sharing.
I had hoped to get over your way to see the pretty quilts but sadly that just wasn't possible. I'm glad you had a nice but very windy event.
That looks so pretty, is this something lots of people do in the town? What a fun day that would be just driving around and seeing all of the quilts.
Wonderful!!! I would love to drive down our street and see quilts on the line - maybe someday I'll organize something like it here :)
Oh how I miss a clothesline to hang my quilts on! Yours look so beautiful.... blessings, marlene
It is a pleasure to see the quilts hanging on the line; they look like they are in the perfect setting. There is some leaf color here, too. So beautiful.
I love the quilts hanging on the line. I wish I had clotheslines to do that. I bet they smell nice now, right?
Oh, I'm jealous! It's so hot and muggy here! What a great time to air out some lovely quilts :-) They look amazing!
I love a quilt airing! On one of my earliest trips to Lancaster PA I saw dozens of quilts hanging on lines. It was a lovely sight, one of my fondest memories.
It looked like an almost perfect day for the "airing". Wonderful quilts on the lines too. :)
What a wonderful day. I love to see quilts on lines blowing in the wind. Beautiful home. I wish I could have been there. Thank you for sharing these pictures.
What a fun idea! You definitely had some pretties out for view.
How inspiring to see such lovely quilts blowing in the breeze that way!
