Geese are Flying
Please not the geese that signal the change of seasons - not yet! NO, our assignment for the Star Surround was making all the geese units. I found it easier to just lay these babies right out in their order as I was having trouble with my 'fur' staff disrupting all my lovely stacks of fabric pieces. And in order for them to fit the board, I had to stitch the center 'pinwheel' section, but that helped with the placement on out to the edges. So all the geese are done and all the stars are ready for the next step.
Melissa gave an excellent tutorial on making the 'no-waste' geese - which I would normally do for so many, but I chose to do them the old fashion way so I could get all those lovely triangles to make some little hourglass blocks for another project. And just to show you my 'fur' staff at help - the only way I could keep Bella from scrambling my layouts, was to give her my latest finished quilt to break in. She loved the orange plush flannel backing, so content to supervise (with eyes closed) from the side-lines.
**AND speaking of pets on quilts (tired yet), Jacque and Padsworth of Lily Pad Quilting has posted the rules and catagories to get you prepared**
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Looks awesome so far Sharon. I haven't even finished my HST, let alone started on my geese! Aren't those fur babies just the kings and queens of the roost!
gorgeous stars - this will be a fabulous quilt - and Bella looks very comfy :)
Ooh,ooh, ooh!! Am just loving these! You've been real busy.
It will be a wonderful quilt. I haven´t sewn my geese yet, but I will do it in the weekend. I am busy working on my Hexie project for next blog hop with Madame Samm
Why can´t I stop participate in those blog hops.
