October Quilts
Yes, I did list my NewFO and other finishes/starts for October, but I didn't add the finished quilts. It has been so rainy, windy and bits of snowflakes so I had to wait for a good day to photo them.
I know some of you were playing along with this one too as I saw your blocks posted on your blogs. I sent mine off to my long armer - not only because I need to clean up that 'to be quilted' pile, but I wanted a Baptist Fan edge to edge which I couldn't achieve on my home machine.
This is a mix of Howard Marcus, Moda, RJR and Benartex fabrics and I love how they worked so well together. I had the Baptist Fan done with a black thread front and back and just love the look. It finished 64" square.
My 2.5" barrel was overflowing so that meant another postage stamp quilt. I quilted this on my home machine using the walking foot, beige thread top/bottom with a crosshatch thru the light squares. And binding was out of that 'left-over' drawer. This finished 60" square.
And I was determined to get my Nested Churn Dash quilt done. I did this on my home machine with micro meander in the light strips and serpentine and straight stitch in the sashing and final border. Finished size is 68" square.
The next quilt was my SIL's latest quilt - a big girl quilt for her great neice - and it turned out a big quilt. She fell in love with this pattern from my book 'Scrap-basket Sensations' by Kim Brackett (the one I did my chain-link batik quilt from) - yes, she takes a little longer, plus we (I did all the math work) made a few changes to make this a rectangle quilt with the pre-cuts and yardage she bought.
Don't you just love this!! How different it looks. This is Fleurologie by Stephanie Ryan for Moda - the bright pink is on the back. And she had our longarmer do her signature Jeri's Flower in a light pink thread for quilting. Finished size is 70" x 84". With the left over fabric, she had enough to make two matching pillows to go with this for a Christmas gift.
I'm not counting how many are in that tote to be quilted, but hope to clear them out by the end of the year. Jeri has decided it was time to relax and do some smaller projects for Christmas gifts before the next big quilt - for herself this time. Wait until you see this fabric!
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

They are just beautiful! It is amazing what can be made with little squares and scraps. Love the postage stamp. I also need to quilt my nested churn dash. I think it will be next! Thanks for the inspiration.
Gorgeous finishes... wow! Love them all!
Beautiful quilts!!!
That Town Square is just gorgeous in those fabrics. You guys did a great job on it.
Nice finishes - one and all.
Pretty quilts!
Your SIL's quilt is beautiful, she has just the right colors, the quilt seems to move. I'm fascinated by the backgrounds in those pictures, is that at your house?
Gorgeous, each and every one of them. It's such a good feeling to get things done isn't it! I say this like I know what I am talking about...my pile of UFO's is making little progress towards the finish stage! LOL!!
Such a busy lady! All the quilts are wonderful.
While I really like all of your finishes, I'm lovin the postage stamp and churn dash. Great job.
Oh your double churn dash is my favorite!!! (ALthough they are all beautiful) I just love the colors, contrast of that one!!
The quilts are beautiful. They are each magnificent. I need to get busy piecing and something sent to the longarmer. I had purposed to practice quilting this year and that went out the window back in January. I guess I could put that back on the to-do-list for next year. FMQ frustrates me. However, I do enjoy using the walking foot. Thanks for the beautiful blog.
WOW this is a quilt show! :) So many lovelies!
wow what a show you put on for October. I love the one with the baptist fans, so perfect.
They all are just wonderful.
Love the secondary patterns on those last three lovely quilts.
Congrats on all the finishes. They all turned out beautifully, but the Nested Churn Dash one is my favorite.
