Handmade Christmas Challenge - November 2014

2014 Christmas Handmade Pledge

OK - hold on to your chair.  There are only 6 weeks until Christmas!  Are you going to be ready?  I just ordered the last couple of items on-line for the grands and I will pick up a couple of gift cards at local shops and I am done.  By participating in SewCal Gal's I have made it a more relaxing Holiday Season.

We are still a State that has plastic shopping bags - what do you do with them?  I like to recycle them as much as possible - or they can be dropped off at the local recycle center for re-purposing.  These bag holders are made with this TUTORIAL.  Great way to recycle those left over charms or scraps and can be made up to suit the recipient's decor.  I have some matching towels and potholders to go with these for a nice set.

The cold is here, the snow is on the ground, and there have been nights of sipping hot chocolate while watching Hallmark Christmas movies. Are you feeling the Holiday Spirit yet?

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Christmas music is on the radio. I watched White Christmas as I put up the Christmas villages. Started shopping but by no means close to being done. Cold here, snow and a ton of people in the stores. Yep, it is getting Christmassy around here. Good for you to be done and able to enjoy the season.

That sounds lovely, I'm getting through Thanksgiving first although I have started to plan gifts and shopping, trying not to hit the stores too much.

I'm feeling the autumn spirit, but 6 weeks is a wake-up for sure. The hot-chocolate and Hallmark movies sound good to me, too.

I have a special box that I painted several years ago for plastic bags but mostly I give them to our church's food parcels group -- they, of course, pack food in them.

I went to the supermarket yesterday and they were playing Christmas carols -- for me, it's too early to start thinking about Christmas that intently. We don't have Thanksgiving in Australia so our holidays don't come until the end of December!

Almost done with your Christmas gift list? I'm so jealous. You've made a lot of fun and useful gifts. Enjoy the rest of the holiday season.
