It's finally here! This has been like waiting for that magical morning and dashing down the stairs to see what's under the Christmas Tree. First I want to thank SARAH for pulling this all together - a lot of work that gal does. And she has gathered some beautiful things to gift over the 12 days - you just have to visit each of the blogs, leave a comment for them and have some fun!!
I share today with:
When Sarah asked for some possible projects for children, I had to raise my hand. My three grandkids love crafting and I was gathering supplies to have a NaNa project to do with them next visit.
Supplies for this project are real simple and easy to gather. Lots of stickers, glue (I found some fun glitter glue), ribbons, pipe cleaners, and any little fun crafty item that makes you happy. AND a box of CD's. I found all of these items in various Dollar Stores, so a very inexpensive craft project.
We are making Ornaments with the CD's and supplies. I worked with a 3 yr. old, 6 yr. old , and 10 yr. old - so this shows you can work this project with different ages (recommend more serious decor for older kids). My granddaughter LOVES stickers and anything sparkly. It didn't take her long to figure this whole thing out.
I did have to help out with some of the 'harder' stickers,
but the delight was discovering we could design on both sides!
We were watching a movie, too - sometimes that needed more watching than crafting. And my daughter is in the middle of a kitchen/diningroom re-hab, but our temporary set up worked just fine. While she spackled and painted we glued, glittered, and stickered.
Ah, back to work. This guy was pretty good at cutting some of the items to make some design changes.
The glitter glue was VERY popular and we had to use every tube, even though there were two of each color - yup, each opened and used.
Just some of the finished ornaments - their second side drying. Then their ribbon hangers can be added. You can use a dremel to drill holes to a little more advance crafting with the older crowd. Even craft paint can be used - I kept it simple with the smaller ones. Just gather supplies and some kids and you will be surprised what they will create on their own.
Thank you for visiting and please be sure to visit each day.

The blog hop is off to a fantastic start, and what glittery fun you all had, great photo shoot along the way, and for all those ages, truly fabulous .
Fun idea! It would be super easy to recycle old computer or music cds, too.
What a fun craft for the grand kids! Not one will be the same!

What fun! I'll have all six of my grandchildren here in a little over a week and I know what we'll be doing. Thanks!
Such fun at your house. Keepers for sure.
What a great idea !!
There can never be too many Christmas ornaments. My granddaughter will love making those, thanks for the tutorial.
so so cute. my nieces, now Moms of their own, used to do these at my house. great minds think alike LOL we would print off copies of their picture to put on one side with the year and the other side was a free for all crafting fun experience. love it!
What a great idea to use up old cd's - my grandaughter is all grown up now and I don't have anybody to share this project with, but well done to all your little kiddo's. Visiting today via Carole :)
Wonderful idea! My 5 year old granddaughter would love to do this. Last year she asked if she could have her own Christmas tree. I might be able to help her pull it off using your ideas. Thank you for participating in the Christmas in July blog hop.
What a fun project for little ones! Great idea!
Great project. When I was teaching, the CD ornament was very popular with my students. We put one of their school pictures in the center and then decorated. Changed it up with the little handprints of the K-1 students.
So glad this is part of Sarah's 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop. D. Weeks (aka Momma Llama)
Fun idea!
My grandkids love crafting too, so I'm always on the lookout for projects to do with them. This looks fun.
What a fun project--I don't have little ones yet, but I'll keep it in mind for when I do!
Have a great weekend!

This one is so cute. Love the granddaughter's intense attention to the project. Know the kids loved the time with you too:)
WOW- I have several great grand kids that will love this when they come to my house. of course they will be doing it on the porch.
My grandma had crafts ready for me when I stayed with her and always encouraged my creativity. It's a gift of time that kids treasure!
Kids, glue and stickers go together like peanut butter and jelly. They did a great job.
What a great project, and such fun with your grands!
These are great to make all year long. They work great in gardens to scare off the deers and protect the plants.
My grands and great grands would love to do this!

Love all the ornament results-so cute! What a great project for kids (and adults). Thank you, Susan spierssusan52@gmail.com
This is a great idea for Grammy Camp! I have a friend who does this every year with her granddaughters. The 7 and 9 year old girls made bunny and pom-pom pillows to match their new bedrooms. I am saving these ideas for future grandkids.
Love the glitter and stickers. I will have to start collecting supplies as summer camp needs a new craft project. Thanks
Looks like a fun day.
Great way to use old computer disk. Thanks for sharing,
Glitter glue seems to be a favorite with grandkids no matter what the craft project. Thanks for sharing.
Those ornaments are too cute. A great use of old computer discs. Definitely want to try this :)
Reminds me of when I was a preschool director, a long time ago. Fun projects.
What a fun project for the kiddies!
This is a super project for my toddler great grandchild!
The children are having a lovely time. Glue and sparkles are always a hit.
these are so fun and so gratifying for them. when our kiddos were younger we did similar things with cd's one that they really liked was attaching cd's in a row and hanging them in their bedroom windows so they became a sun catcher and had rainbows in their rooms.

Such cute ornaments and a great craft project.
It would also be neat to string these together and use dowels to make a mobile.
Nice to see kids involved in something non-digital.

How cute! I have the grandkids...now for the supplies!
Fun idea and great way to get the children involved in Christmas planning.
That's a great idea. I imagine the Christmas lights reflecting off of them would really make them sparkle. I have always used my old CDs to hang in the fruit trees to keep the birds away.

Lovely tutorial! I am participating in the TATW by Sarah with a bundle of Craftsy's Colonial Manor in red and cream, but enlarging the strips to 3.5" wide and making 6 strip sets to make a queen size quilt. Thanks for hosting!
What fun! Those ornaments will be especially pretty when they are reflecting the lights from the Christmas tree. But I think the best part is likely the memories you made together.

Glitter glue doesn't last long at my house- pink is always a favorite for some weird reason. I gave away 2 unused 50 packs of cds and dvds last week. Never thought to use them for crafts....

Wow, what a great idea, Sharon!!! I can guarantee this will be on my "fun things to do with the grandkids" list!!! Thanks so much for getting the hop off to such a great start!
Great idea. I have trouble finding things to interest a just 4 year old and an 11 year old. The 11 year old is bored with us this summer. He gets spoiled by a friend of mine who has lots more energy than I. Then he comes back and moans about being bored. We did play a version of Monopoly with dogs. The kennel was the "jail." He did like that with Ga. He whooped me. Thanks for a great idea.
Great idea for the kids. Hard to keep them busy and offline.
Getting the little kids involved artistically at this stage is so important to future creations! All art is beautiful and they can be so proud of their work when they see it displayed during the holidays. This looks like such a fun activity!
Great project for little ones!
Fun project!
How creative! I bet those ornaments will be really shiny and reflect the light of the Christmas tree.
My four grandson's are probably too old for this project. I would have loved using this idea in earlier years. Looks like fun.
