Yeah for Long Weekends

Remember that pile on the quilt rack that was almost a foot high?  Well, there are just two projects there now.  Yeah, the quilt rack that isn't used to hold quilts - silly me.  No, things are not totally finished - but they are moved on to the next stage or close to a finish.  And there are some things I just can't show because they are test projects.

These are the  June and July blocks for the 'Adinkra' QAL with Debby Kratovil.  I thank Deb for getting the blocks out as I know she is into her heavy teaching/travel season and enjoying a new baby in the family.

Caught up on the Circa 2016 bitty blocks with Temecula Quilt Co.  I am scrounging the bottom of the big tote of repros for all those bits.  I am not cutting tiny pieces when they are floating in there somewhere.

Opposite corners completed on the rail/color wash project for Let's Book It.

Put the finishing touches on a tutorial for the Christmas in July Blog Hop - with a little help.

And speaking of the Hop - I have my fabrics.  You can find the fabric requirements and an EQ layout of the quilt Sarah has planned HERE .  Don't want to play with holiday fabric in the heat?  She has suggestions for optional fabric/color play HERE.

And I am closing my days with some night hand work.  A quilt I am handquilting (to be shown once done) and playing with hexies.  I have one of each color rosette and now working the second of each color.  I have the background fabric for this quilt, so even though I am still collecting 30' fabric for the piecing part I can applique these on to their setting.  This will be my entry for the Empire Quilt Fest in 2018, so I have lots of time.

Hope you had a pleasant long weekend,
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Your kittens always look so snuggly! And they know how to appreciate good quilting.

Your colorwash is really coming together, it's beautiful. Good to know that Bella has put her nap of satisfaction on the future quilt, she's telling us it will be very comfy.

I just love your colorwash piece. It reminds me of an overexposed photo.

I finally got around to saving the links for the adinkrah project - now, if I can just find that fabric I bought in Ghana, I might finally have a project to use it on. Whoop whoop on the hexies being half done!!!
