Whoop Whoop Friday

If you remember, I was trying to tame that over flowing tote of strips and strings because I couldn't get the cover on (and really had to shove it onto the shelf).  I haven't counted how many blocks are there, but that pile is almost as high as the tote - I tilted/propped it so you can see - a left over piece of stratta, some packaged strips, and a few strings.

Then I noticed my black tote was in the same condition.  I found that red/black check (and old Marcus) that looked like a trim from a quilt edge.  It was 3.5" wide and long enough for me to get 20 blocks to use for my chimneys.  A lot of sorting, piling, putting away things that didn't belong in that tote and I am in the progress of making some fun log cabin blocks.

And I should be getting this finished!! Binding still waiting, but a certain furkid has decided this is a good napping place.  (Yeah, my hair dye - something else that needs tending to).  Want to take bets now on whether I can get him to pose with the quilt when it's finished for the Pet's On Quilts?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend - I have some serious finishing to do.

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Your Friday was so much more productive than mine. I spent the day preparing my 1946 Singer Featherweight machine and supplies for a Free Motion Quilting workshop tomorrow.

Wonderfully productive. I'm betting no posed picture of cat on that quilt. Maybe if you set the quilt out and pretend it doesn't matter you could win the mind game.

We all know kitties are independent. Another productive day for you and nada for me - I had a migraine from hades today.

If anyone is short on creativity, I think you have some to spare.

I agree with Tink's Mom - just put the quilt out for "nothing" and Moe will come right to it. Or...mine come for treats. Good luck and happy sewing!

Your picture of the taming of the strips had me searching for Moe in it, I was sure he was there camouflaged, nope he's sleeping on the softer pile. :)

You have put a dent in that tub of strips and strings. And I see the beginnings of some log cabin blocks with red center squares. My string blocks are getting full as I go through scraps and small pieces of stash. I'm planning some string block fun with them soon.

Look at all those string blocks!! Ha, when my strings don't fit in the container any longer, I toss them into a large bucket!! Maybe I should think about make some string blocks out of them, great idea. Love yours. And you little helper really likes that quilt, so sweet. When I wasn't sewing the last couple of weeks daugther #3s kitty decide his favorite place to be was the end my ironing board, just that one little spot, didn't care for the rest. They are so funny.
