Blue Skies

This month's color for RSC15 is lite/pale blue.  Blue is the biggest stash of color for me, so I went to my FQ tote to play with my blocks.  I always start with the largest block (woven heart) and save any cut-offs for the smaller blocks to come.

Next are the 9-patch houses - these are quick and fun.

Then the sawtooth stars that will go with the houses.  I did up only 10 bricks for the Then & Now quilt as I already had quite a mix of blues from the other month.

And my clear-out continues......  I found this little tub (buried) and a start on these blocks, but when?  Seriously, I don't even remember working on these or using these charms/strips in anything else.

So I used up what was in that tub to finish off all these basket blocks.  These will be donated to Sarah's group - love sending them blocks and/or flimsies.

And I found a huge pile of small blocks with all the left over pieces, JR strips, and layer cakes.  This was a QAL a couple years ago that fell apart - so the blocks will be passed on and the fabrics were worked into the food chain or boxed for pass on to someone else to play with.  Another empty container.

And these two totes of scraps - a variety of blocks (4-patch, 9-patch, bow-ties) were made and the rest cut down into the fabric food chain.

A much more workable fabric system - a few things need straightening (like the top of the large shelves), but much better.  The two clear big totes - one for cut batt and the other has the flimsies/backing for those waiting to be quilted.  All of the large grey tubs have been emptied and waiting to be taken upstairs - since they are empty, I can handle that now.

And all my threads - machine, specialty, etc..  in the rolling cart and the little shelving for my cross stitch.  Those items on the tops are to be dealt with yet.  But I have till the end of June, so it will be done.  And you can see into my living room - the table with another basket (my downfall) that I am going thru for a weekend sewing project and to kit up for my July 'Let's Book It' project.

What are you working on this weekend?
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

I love reading about organizing things and it is fun to see your pictures and how neat everything looks. Now to do a little more around here. I was able to do some sewing and completed my June goal buy putting a quilt top together. I also spent some time in my garden.

Love your light blue blocks. I may have to take a stab at the heart block for next year's RSC. Congrats on getting all those tubs emptied. That's always a challenge it seems.
