SewMaMaSew Give Away

**COMMENTS ARE NOW CLOSED**
winner is Anna McCurdy of Alberta Canada

**Please be sure to visit all the link ups at Sew MaMa Sew **

I am giving away one of my earlier mural pieces ( 25.5" x 33.5").  This was designed for The Catskill Mountain Quilter's Hall of Fame 2007 Quilt Show.  It was to feature the 'Celebration of the Paper Crane' .  The two swans represent the Island of Japan - one is filled with ocean life designs and the other is filled with designs of ceremonial Kimonos.  And framed with the year's Hoffman Challenge 'Cranes' fabric.

The swans are cross stitched on 18 count white Aida clothe with DMC floss, hand dyed floss, silks, metalics and beaded.  The piece is hand quilted by my mother (I wasn't quilting then), Arlene Vrooman, who is a member of the Catskill Mountain Quilter's Hall of Fame.  She is featured in the books 'The Catskill Mountain Quilter's Hall of Fame'  by Janis Benincasa and 'The Unbroken Thread - The History of Quilt Making in the Catskills' by Steve Hoare .

Sometimes things need to move on to a new home.  Just leave me a comment  - followers will get a second chance to win.  I will ship international - be sure I have a way to contact you and comments will be left open until midnight(est) May 10th with the winner announced and contacted on the following day.  I will be sure to add cleaning instructions with it as well as that we both sign the back for you.

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

I have a picture of a swan in my bedroom. I was thinking that I really needed a new picture. This has been with me forever. I would love to have your swans in my bedroom. Simply gorgeous. I would be so touched to have something that belongs to you here in my house. Swans are so unique and just so fragil looking. Thank you for the chance to win.

This is beautiful. I have spent many hours folding paper cranes. We learned when we had a Japanese exchange student one summer. I had the good fortune to buy several kimonos at the Kyoto flea market when I went to Japan. This would be treasured.

This is breathtaking. I would love the honor of giving this personal piece of your history (and your mother's!) a special place in our home. I am staring straight across at the spot where I'd hang it - a centerpiece in the living room, over my favorite place to sit.

The idea of being able to see this work of art every day, and for my little girls to grow up seeing it in their environment - is just so moving to me. I hope we will be chosen! Thank you so much for the chance to win.
