Monday May For Me

I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day as well as found some ME time.  I got my day of total ME - everyone else had somewhere to be and I stayed to hold down the fort.  Spent the day re-folding fabrics and straightening shelves.  I just have the books to go thru now.  I did try to 'un-plug' for Sunday, but took a little hop on - luckily to handle some urgent e-mail - then un-plugged again.

I received my lovely 'blue' package for the Colour Swap - from Siri - all the way from Norway!  Something 'smelly' - lovely soap and some lotions.  Something edible - look at the size of that candy bar!  Something for room decor - I couldn't manage to get the full runner in the photo - just lovely stars with beautiful applique flowers.

AND something personal (at least one item had to be handmade - lucky me I got two) - this lovely project case.  A zip pocket with lots of room, elastic for holding items, needle case, and look at that wonderful blue fabric!  I actually received the package on Friday, but saved it for Mother's Day - Thank you so much Siri - love it all.

And this just delightful character - my SIL came across him and knew I had to have him.  Early B'Day gift.  Right now he is hanging inside as we turned into some bad weather very quickly from morning til right after lunch.  Even had to cover all the flower beds are we are to have frost - maybe snow!

The winner of her choice of the Double Charm Bundle Give Away is:

ROMA  - Life@Roma's - I will send her  a personal e-mail for choice and mailing information.

SO WHAT DO I HAVE THIS WEEK?? How about some Panels with whimsy, for the kids (or grands), just for fun!

Whether it's the little boys or the big boys - how fun!  Farmall tractors with three FQs

The Cat In the Hat with three FQs - now who can't love this trouble maker!

A book panel of Dick & Jane - oh, I remember reading this myself as well as to my kids.  And 3 FQs to play with it.

And that loveable fluff of a character - The Lorax with three coordinating FQs.

Winner will have choice of panel/FQ set - leave me a comment on what your favorite childhood storybook was.  Mine was 'Black Beauty' - I was such a horse nut.  This is for all my followers and I will ship international - comments open until Sunday, May 19th 10pm (est) with winner announced with the next Monday May For Me.

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Your new cat is wonderful! My favorite childhood book was Saltkråkan by Astrid Lindgren who also wrote the more famous Pippi Longstocking.

To tell the truth I don't remember having a favorite book so I'll tell you my sons favorite book was "Theres a monster at the end of this book". I had to read it to him over and over at one setting and also several times a day.

Your a lucky lady with your great gifts! Thanks for the givaway.... I guess I'd choose the standard Charlotte's Web or Stuart Little.

When I was little we'd go to the library and every time I would ask for a library card but I was too young. The librarian finally gave me a book "The Saggy Baggy Elephant" that will always be my favorite.

Would be hard to choose a panel I like them all. My favorite story, I guess I was so very young I can't remember the name, but my mother read it to us quite often. I remember it was about a little black sheep and he didn't fit in with all the white sheep. Have asked mom about the name of it but she doesn't even remember reading it. Would love to find that story book!!

You received a lovely swap package. I especially like the table runner.
It didn't surprise me to find out that your favorite book was Black Beauty. My favorite book when I was little was Honey Bunch. I don't remember much about it, but it was at my grandmother's house and I reread it whenever we visited.
The giveaway fabrics are lovely, but please do not enter my name. I'm working hard to chip away at my stash.

What a lovely swap package to receive. Mmmm favourite childhood books, another tricky question as there are so many. I think the Chalet School stories by Elinor Brent-Dryer. My mother had read the stories as a girl and I just loved them.

I was a reader of the Bobsey Twins and Nancy Drew.

Awww, what nice things you received!!

I loved a book called "Peaky Beaky" about a family of birds. I still have it, and it's surprising considering it was passed down through four other kids after me!

I adore the Dick and Jane panels although any of them would be a major prize in my estimation!!

I hope you don't lose any plants to frost!! It will be 88 here tomorrow.

We had bookshelves full of books but the one that I loved the most was "Klippity Klop" by Ed Emberley. This is a brilliant book and well worth having in any bookshelf.

My favorite Childhood book was Encyclopedia Brown. They were mystery books and my maiden name is Brown so I liked reading them. I think the first book I was given was 'A Child's Garden of Verses". I remember a very special Sunday School teacher gave it to me.

My favorite book as an older child was Anne of Green Gables.
