I pulled these fabrics to play with for the Project Quilting Challenge - square in a square. I knew right off the bat what I wanted to do and with which fabrics. This will coordinate with a quilt yet to be shown.
This is the first block for Pam Budda's Pocket PatchWork newest little quilt. I had these little cuties already made in my basket so it was just stitching them into the Dutchman's Puzzle block.
The first block for the Quilt Doodle Design BOM. I am using 'Birds & Berries' by Lauren & Jess Jung for Moda - with Kona white and maybe some other solids - we will see what the future blocks are to determine that. This is Monkey Wrench or Snail Trails block.
And I got bored, so pulled another block from the auction kit I got last year. Margerite's Star - I did change the pattern up to piece those outer backgrounds rather than do inset seams. I love the fabrics that are in this kit!
And I am trying to do a little cross stitching each day - I fell away from this for a while. This is 18 count Aida cloth and using DMC floss - and a lot of back stitching for such a little piece. I like to do the back stitching as I go along - if I leave it for the end, I get very bored with the piece and it gets tucked away.
And for a laugh - a Moe in the Box. I haven't been able to throw this box out because it is the new favorite place to sleep - silly cat! I guess it's better than the bathroom sink - at least it is for me.

Pretty blocks. Nice geese. I look forward to seeing a picture of you cross stitch project. I see lots of details.
Moe is funny. Great picture :D
Love all these projects! Your pocket patchwork block is already adorable and Margerite's Star is wonderful with those fabrics. The cross stitch is gorgeous...what a treasure it will be when it is finished!
Lovely blocks. I adore the cross stitch. Just looking makes me want to start a piece.
Oh, and may I please order one Moe in a box? lol
What a sweet kitty!
Hi Sharon, love the blocks and the cross stitch is amazing so complicated. I do embroidery where you have a printed piece, never got the hang of cross stitch. Love Moe, they get themselves into the smallest of spaces. Penny the cat we had used to love the top of the clean laundry pile!!!! Susie x
You just highlighted my thoughts about cross stitch. I've finished some beautiful large ones, but get bored with the back stitch and put them away. They're still away!
Love all of your blocks , I think I would like to do the pocket patchwork too as I am sure I have flying geese laying around here somewhere. Your cross stitch is beautiful !
Hi!!! Pretty blocks and I love your Moe in a box!! Thanks
How many new ones did you start. They are all looking good.
Cats are sooo funny with their adopted boxes. Your blocks are beautiful.
Have a great day.
Always, Queenie
You've been a busy lady with all those pretty blocks, and isn't Moe cute!! There's nothing more fun than a cat with a box!!
Lots of great variety you are playing with! Love the Dutchman's Puzzle one. Good idea to do the backstitching as you go--I agree it is very boring to do it all at the end!
I love your blocks. I could not do so many at once or I would get lost. HOwever, I have tried that last star so many times and I can NEVER get it right, yours is absolutely lovely. How did you do it? I have tried to design a paper pieced one, trad pieced with the Quilt in a day pattern......
Love your cross stitching!
Lots of cute projects going on :-) My mom's cat spent lots of the holidays sleeping in a new box too!
Aren't cats funny creatures! Love that pic.
OH! I love this Margerite's Star -- Sharon it's gorgeous!! What fun things you've got going on! And my favorite is definitely the cat-in-the-box. Silly Moe!! :)
So many awesome projects going on there! Love the cat in the box!
Moe is just like my kids when they were little. The box was the best present, not what came in it.
Love the fabric you are using for the Quilt Doodle BOM. Very nice!
Happy quilting!
Cindy
