Tuesday, December 18th, there will be a blogger day of silence. If possible, please try to not post anything other than the above button (feel free to right click and save the above image if you want to upload it to your own blog).
Money is also being raised that will go to an organization in the memory of this tragedy. The organization is called The Newtown Family Youth and Family Services. Here is the official description of the support service being donated to:
"Newtown Youth and Family Services, Inc. is a licensed, non-profit, mental health clinic and youth services bureau dedicated to helping children and families achieve their highest potential. NYFS provides programs, services, activities, counseling, support groups and education throughout the Greater Newtown area.
ANY DONATIONS MADE TO NEWTOWN YOUTH AND FAMILY SERVICES WILL BE DONATED DIRECTLY TO THOSE EFFECTED BY THE SANDY HOOK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL SHOOTING."

Thank you. I copied it onto my blog.
The Sandy Hook tragedy has hit our area very hard. We are only 30 minutes away from that lovely town. My daughter took horse back riding lessons there as part of a Girl Scout camp program. Our niece's fiance grew up on the same street as the shooter. His family is currently on a corporate rotation in Dubai and the tenants they leased their home to lost a child in the shooting.
St. Rose of Lima is a wonderful parish and they have been shouldering a lot of the responsibility for the emotional support of the community. We belong to a Catholic church over the border in Ridgefield, Ct.Our church and Diocese has been offering monetary and spiritual support to aid in providing counseling. It is amazing to see the outpouring of love and support that is being offered in our communities and on the internet.
I was relieved to hear that the children will not be returning to the Sandy Hook school.
