Last Rose of Summer
I wanted to photo the last of our roses, but we had another 'severe' storm with tornado warnings and they were all gone the next morning. But this lovely daffodil hexie pillow came from my 'Seasons' swap partner (Australia's seasons - Spring). So I do have a flower to share with you.
I have been working a lot of blocks - finally started on the 'Grandmother's Choice' quilt along. Love all the history that Barbara gives us along with each block.
I've been throwing older fabric scraps in a basket and have plenty of muslin pieces (as well as a full bolt).
This should be a wonderful quilt, full of history.
Remember the Dots on Dots Blog Hop is running the rest of the week - my post is here with give away open until midnight (EST) on the 21st. Winner announced the 22nd (first day of Fall-USA)
CLOSING THOUGHT
"Tis the last rose of summer,
Left blooming alone;
All her lovely companions
Are faded and gone."
Thomas Moore - The Last Rose of Summer, 1830
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Your blocks are excellent. I'm so tempted to start Grandmother's Choice....grin. Great fabric choices as well.
Sharon your blocks are lovely and nice cushion from your OASS person.xx
LoVe the "spring" cushion. It's so pretty! :)
I heard about that warning up there. Glad you are safe, sorry about your rose though.
I love these blocks!!!
I love the old blocks so much Sharon - and muslin is certainly a staple at my house too, though I don't have a whole bolt. :) blessings, marlene
Great hexie pillow and your blocks are terrific , should I have a look I know I am tempted ;-)
It will be an awesome quilt. The hexie pillow is so cute too.
It was quite cold this morning. Summer is really headed out the door. Love your blocks and that chunky hexy pillow is really sweet.

Beautiful blocks. It will truly be a lovely quilt.
Have a great day.

I like your Grandmother's Choice blocks. Especially the second one! That one stumped me. Good going.
More storms and tornadoes. Good grief. I hope these are the last this fall.
I hate to see summer ending. Oh well, I certainly can't change the weather. Great blocks as always.
