Rainbow Saturday - Purple

Well the house is a mess - again!  I have one of my scrap bins out and digging for purples.  That means the couch is covered, the floor, and two tables - and I am not showing you that mess!  These little Starlets are from Ula's blog - a pattern from her 2012 BOM that I saved - not sure it is still available.  I will do 3 of each color thru the year - I have a cute planet panel that I think I might use with these.

I just love these little paper pieced log cabins!  This one has been in my saved folder for a long time and I can't locate it on the net, but there are plenty out there.  I mathed out the quilt for these and will need at least 6 of each.  I found the little lotus flower in the bin 'scrambled soup' - I think it needs to be worked into a mini.

Since the mess is about the house, I will be playing in all this fabric scrap goodness thru the weekend.  I am going thru this tote and sorting colors into extra large zip bags, then I can pull the color bag each month rather than this tangle mess all over.  AND I found more PINK!!  So I can add some more pink blocks to last month's collection.

I will link up with SoScrappy - go visit to see what others are working on in PURPLE

I totally forgot about the Christmas Thru the Year post up and linky - too many at the end of the month.  But, I did get my stitchery done and the Project Quilting (favorite color challenge) pillow are added into the Christmas box.  Hopefully I will remember February's - got it on my reminder calendar, but that doesn't always help.

I really need to thank Jess at The ElvenGarden for hosting the How Far Will You Go Quilt Along.  I won for the large quilt and have a lovely gift certificate sitting with Fat Quarter Shop - I am waiting on a new line to be released later this month. She has another great skill learning Hop going right now that you may want to take a peek at - Something New Blog Hop - or you can click that tiny thin blue button on the side bar.

Edit ** My LQS is hosting a Super Bowl Mystery - link is HERE **  you need to scroll thru the whole page for all the information**

Back to the scrap pile,
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

imho, if you can't get "stuff" out and create a bit of a mess...then, creativity can get stiffled. =)

  10. Such cute purple blocks Sharon! Love those stars - they'll be great in a planetary-type design :*) I separated all my scraps into color bins last year because I had the same problem digging through my scrap bins! It's actually been a great help all year long as I needed "just a little green" here and there on my projects. Congrats on the win - your quilt is a lovely sampler!
