This month's color is Orange with a dab of black and/or brown. Orange is a color I don't use a lot or have a lot of in my stash. BUT enough to find scraps to make those small blocks.
The spool blocks come first as they use the 'largest' pieces of scraps.
Then skinny strings go into the tiny log cabin blocks - and yes, these are paper pieced.
And the little 9-patches come out of my 1.5" barrel. Why cut tiny when you already have it. I just have the blocks to make for the column quilt, but I may have to get real creative with my bit of orange - or do a bit of shopping. ** linking up with RSC16 and Oh, Scrap ** Have a lovely weekend, Sewingly Yours, Sharon
I'm ending up with a lot of orange, because I find it very hard to resist! Those spools on the black background really pop. (I may end up having to make spools in the near future if you keep showing yours off!) And love the log cabins and nine patches, too. You always make such great use of your scrappy bits!
Great blocks Sharon! I don't use a lot of orange either, so did not think I had much to work with. Then I dug around in my CW fabrics and found a bunch of cheddar/orange.
Such CUTE blocks, especially those tiny nines.
