I am enjoying Bonnie's new mystery. It has been a while since I did one and grateful she offered two sizes - I'm doing the smaller version and staying with her suggested colors because I HAD those. I had a lot of 2" strips of green - must have been planning a log cabin quilt, but they are getting used up here. Stacked them and made quick work of making those bricks. I had most of the yellows in my 2" barrel so not a lot of cutting needed there. And I had a lot of neutrals already cut, but I picked up a couple of shirting layer cakes so I could add more variety. Again, stacked those and made for quick cutting. We are in for that ice storm to move in to our area, so as long as we don't lose power, I will keep working on these until the chevrons are completed.
I love this pattern and may just use it to make a planned quilt in 2014. I didn't use the black in any of my projects - leaving the option of a black sashing.
And the 6" log cabin blocks - you just can't go wrong with a log cabin.
The bitty stars all twinkling.....
The Sprout blocks waiting to grow.......
None of these blocks are going to be a finish with me because they are all packed up and ready to head out to Sarah - Confessions of a Fabric Addict - and her wonderful group to hopefully find that perfect home to fill a heart with hope and love. They are a group that I love to send blocks and flimsies to and will continue in 2014.
For the RSC14 I plan on working a LOT of string blocks because that is what is left in that big tote. I was going to try the muslin foundation, but everyone had passed on their old phone books to me - so I will be using up that phone paper. And I have a lot of 1.5" squares in that barrel (along with the strings) that I think a postage stamp quilt is in the cards, too.
I will be linking up with:

You are so generous to give away all those amazing blocks... wow, I am really touched by that. I would have a hard time giving them away!
The Solstice blocks are going to be wonderful. I love her QALs. The scrapiness in this post is awesome!
You always amaze me with all you get done.
You are such a generous person. Sarah will be happy to use your beautiful rainbow blocks to make comfort quilts. What a wonderful ministry.
I'm enjoying watching your scrappy Celtic Solstice Mystery quilt blocks come together. So much variety in your scraps! Will be a feast for the eyes.
Great idea to buy a neutral layer cake. Much easier to cut up into smaller sizes for variety! You are all linked up now having FUN hopping. Busy Mondays in Blogland!
You have been busy! I like the 16patch stars- great idea!
You are so generous to give away all your lovely blocks , they will bring comfort and joy to someone somewhere ,
Awesome blocks as usual. What great quilts they will make for Sarah's group. What is the pattern for your brown star rainbow block?
Beautiful blocks...hope that the ice storm is not too bad, and you keep your power. There's not much better than sewing with furries to keep you company, and hot cocoa or coffee to keep you warmed up!
You are one busy lady. I love scdrappy, so all your projects are great! That 16-patch star block gives me an idea about how to use my leader/ender blocks - see earlier post (http://darspatchworkgarden.blogspot.com/2013/12/just-under-wire-cs-part-1.html) Thanks for sharing it.
uhh these are looking great!!
Yay on the mystery step, I too am glad to do the small one this time (if you can call it small, lol)! Love your Rainbow BOM's too!
Love all of these. You get so much accomplished.

I'm sure your offerings will be a blessing to many others!
I love the blocks. That looks like a great quilt for a planned quilt. Looking forward to 2014 to see all your accomplishments. Hope you can keep sewing through the cold weather!
I really like both of the star blocks you've been making for the Rainbow Challenge. Sarah is definitely one of my favorite bloggers. I always feel good about sending things to her group. You always seem to have a steady crop of projects headed her way.
Love the greens you picks.
