Star Surround - Centers
This week's assignment for Melissa's Star Surround QAL was to do the star centers. Since I had alread done the 'pinwheel' portion in order to fit all the pieces on my cork board for storage, they went together pretty quickly. ** please, those doing the QAL, don't freak again - I am doing my piecing a little differently so my star points are not HSTs but geese units **
I am so glad I have a photo of each of my Surrounds, because as soon as I laid that board out on the table - YES - Bella just thought it was grand fun to dive bomb thru it. So things are scrambled once again. And I thought I was being clever - HA!!
I will be linking up with Happy Quilting for this week's assignment. Check out how everyone is progressing.
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

ReplyDeleteOoooH I L-I-K-E those stars!
ReplyDeleteWell done! :)
I love this star block. Flying geese are easier for me to make. Good idea! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteI love the star blocks and your colour choice is gorgeous.

ReplyDeleteI love your stars - it is looking great
ReplyDeleteVery, very nice. I use flying geese when I make this block, too. It's easier for me. Gives it a cleaner look, I think.
ReplyDeleteDid you get a picture of Bella and her new arrangement? You could be starting early on Pets on Quilts for next year.
ReplyDeleteI love the stars, they look great, I usually go the other way and turn flying geese stars into HST's.
Your stars are looking great Sharon.
ReplyDeleteYour stars are beautiful...very pleasing color combo. I don't know what is "less" helpful...having your layout plowed through and tumbled or watching your tiny applique pieces "walk" away stuck to the cat's backside...
ReplyDeleteIn stitches,
Teresa :o)
Great fall colors for the stars. I love how you look at a project and decide the best way for you to do it. Wish I could do that more often!
ReplyDeleteWonderful star blocks.
ReplyDeleteYour stars look absolutely fantastic!! Such a pretty grouping, and I am glad you got a picture to. Those so come in handy :)
ReplyDeleteYour stars are gorgeous!

I am liking how this is coming along and good thinking on snapping the picture first. You have fur friends that mess them up and I have the kidlets that do the same. They think they are "helping".
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! You mean we're supposed to follow the directions on patterns? It's much more fun to change it up to suit your style instead. Glad I'm not the only one.
