Jelly Roll Quilts
This month's favorite Summer Project for A Quilting Life is your favorite Jelly Roll Quilt Pattern. I have a lot of 'go-to' JR patterns, but I love this one for the flow and color. It is my own design and the tutorial can be found HERE. It is a Faux Braid using just a half log cabin block - yes, just ONE block.
You get the design by color lay-out and setting of the block. Very quick and very easy as long as you label your rows.
And this was the first quilt I had long-armed by a new longarmer in the area and I love this pattern that flows from one area into the next adding to the design of the braid.
The fabric is a Bunny Hill design 'Lily & Will' and I added some of my stash lights. The backing is a Benartex lite brown floral on brown. Finished size is 58" x 66".
Maybe you have a favorite or go-to Jelly Roll quilt pattern that you would like to share. I will be linking up HERE - you may want to check out some of the other quilts for inspiration and resources.
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Your quilt is so pretty and just like Debbie I wondered how I missed that. It's going on my list, thanks.
ReplyDeleteI love your design and quilt Sharon! Very simple and effective - the best kind. I've only done one JR quilt using a Bali Pop. I adore the quilt, but I really struggled because many of the strips were not a true 2-1/2". I haven't bought a JR since!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute pattern! I love it. I have bookmarked your tutorial. I would like to try this sometime. I think scrappy version would be very pretty too.
ReplyDeleteThe fabric, the quilting and the design all work together beautifully. You made one gorgeous quilt. Thanks for the tutorial link.

ReplyDeleteIt's gorgeous! I love the color and the quilting. It's so modern.
ReplyDeleteI have a layer cake that's collecting dust. Do you have any "go to" patterns for layer cakes? Love your finish!
ReplyDeleteI love this quilt! The half log cabin blocks very interesting way to make a braided quilt. Thanks for the link to the tutorial ... :) Pat
