June is Busting Out
"June is bustin' out all over
All over the meadow and the hill!
Buds're bustin' outa bushes
And the rompin' river pushes
Ev'ry little wheel that wheels beside the mill!"
Now you would think that would produce a lovely photo of flowers - but we have had rain every day this month of June and our lawn is just 'brown' with mushrooms. You don't want to walk thru them and when mowed, their musky, spore laden pollen just is nauseating.
My wonderful doll quilt arrived from Germany! Leonie did a lot of hand stitching on this - which I just love. She says this is her first landscape quilt - and the last. So I am tickled that I get the one and only! Sweetie, I am sure you will venture the waters again. Oh, yes, there were candies and cookies in that package, too - but not in the photo - because they were divided up amongst the houses on the hill and eaten (enjoyed).
CHRISTMAS QUILT ALONG
A reminder - the Christmas Quilt Along is this Saturday with Paulette at Sweet P Quilting as our hostess. Sue also challenged us to come up with our thoughts on the design of all those block components. I have shuffled them so many times.
Even though I like the single block above - I really think it is a two block design that forms a secondary design - BUT I could be wrong. I have two birthday parties this weekend - little miss (grand daughter) is turning 1 and her party is Saturday afternoon - and eldest widget (grandson) is turning the the BIG 5 and his party is Sunday afternoon. I will play with the QAL inbetween parties.
I am waiting on some fabric orders to complete some projects - so I am crafting along side my SIL. She's playing with pin cushions and I have been making Quilter's Stilettos - from the pdf offered on Bonnie Hunter's (Quiltville) blog by one of her followers. **PDF foundHERE** I ordered my 'lacers' from a kitchen wholesale site (www.KitchenDance.com) and got them way cheaper than if thru crafting or home store. And hit a wonderful bead clearance sale at a local craft shop.
CLOSING THOUGHT
"In June, as many as a dozen species may burst their buds on a single day. No man can heed all of these anniversaries; no man can ignore all of them."
- Aldo Leopold
(The sun is suppose to shine this weekend and I hope to catch all our wonderful flowers in photo to share)
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

Ooohh nice Sharon...love those stiletto's so far! You're certainly a talented little thing aren't you! Well done! :)
I think that there will be two block designs, Sharon, for Sue's mystery quilt - otherwise we'd surely have lots of background blocks left over...? Can't wait for the reveal on Saturday!
Sharon, lovely to see your design arrangements for Sue's mystery quilt :}
That is a LOT of shrooms. The stilettos look lovely and yes I hope the weather this weekend is a lot nicer for us. Enjoy the parties.
Sharon you amaze me. Always doing something.
Have fun at the parties..
Sharon, I love your guess at the Festive Mystery! And I have never seen those beaded stilettos! Just what you need...something else to fill your days...giggle! Have fun with the birthdays!
I love the doll quilt you received too. It's such a sweet scene. Your block guesses may be right on. The 2-blocker is a real possibility with all of the patches we have to use up.
Sounds like a weekend of fun! I like those stilletos; think I will head over to Quiltville to check out that idea. Looking forward to seeing your mystery block(s) revealed.
Have a lovely day! (I'm hoping for more sunshine, here, too!)
What a cute landscape quilt! Love your stilettos and I sure hope you have some sunshine soon!
I love all those mushrooms. Makes me think of a Fairy Village.
Those stiletto's are soooooooo cool! I love them!
I saw that tutorial on the stilettos, that looks like such a great idea!
Love those beaded Stilettos!
As for the CQAL, a two block layout now wouldn't that be different.
I have never seen so many mushrooms! Aside from pictures of flats of mushrooms grown for food. Bless you. You need a few days of dry weather.
The wonderful quilter's Stilettos look soooo Victorian, especially displayed on the mauve fabric.
Sweet landscape from Germany.
Moving right along on those Christmas projects. You are going to be ready for Christmas without the customary Christmas "time crunch stress".
Cute projects going on! And I love your stilletos!!! I keep meaning to download that tute and make a few of those but never seem to get around to it.
Just wanted to say too thanks so much for all your hard work on the Bingo Game! It was loads of fun and I really enjoyed it :*) You girls did a great job putting it together!!!
Well the mushrooms do make for a nice photo.
Please share pictures of the stilettos I'd love to see them when you finish.
What pretty pins! I might have to put those one my list...lol!
Love the stilettos!!!
Love your stilettos -- the beads really make them look crafty!
You get all the rain and we need the rain in Wisconsin... we've had a little, but not enough!
Enjoy your day!
I don't know about anyone else, but I am having so much fun with this little contest. Thanks so much for entering.
I love your stilettos too. Thanks for the link to making them.
An adorable doll quilt! Have a super day at a birthday celebration! I missed one a couple of weeks ago, but will soon get her here and we're going to our own tea party! Happy Weekend.
We've also had at least a shower, if not the whole day, everyday in June. Luckily, we haven't had too many mushrooms yet. What a mess.
The doll quilt is very sweet. Have fun at the birthday parties.
I really like those quilter's stilletos! What a great idea!!
And you could send some of that rain our way...
Whoop whoop!!
