Monday Making

I got a start on Bonnie Hunter's new leader/ender project and a baggy of scraps to go thru to cut up pieces for the next few to have ready by the machine.  I'm trying to stay with bright colors to keep this a happy quilt.

Then to work more 16 patches with the 1.5" squares.  I need 85 of these (and a lot of 2 other blocks) for this long term project.

These two projects should really eat up the smallest bits that have just grown beyond containment!  Another week of stormy weather makes for good sewing time.

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

  1. Your leaders and enders remind me that’s a good way to get those bonus triangles sewn together. I have another stack of them. I’ve never really done leaders and enders, so maybe it’s time to start. I love your blocks. Lots of color.

  3. Bonnie's block for this year looks like a good scrap eater, but I so do not need another project. Hopefully the stormy weather has abated a bit and you can enjoy some summer weather. Good luck with your month of quilting. Fingers crossed you have lots ready for binding by the end of the month.

  4. Bonnie's new leader/ender project has been calling my name softly. If it gets any louder, I may have to give in. Your blocks look great, they have a nice mix of fabrics.

  5. Aren't 1.5" squares just the best? Such fun to play with!
I was convinced I was going to skip Bonnie's leader/ender this year, but then I saw what an easy block it was and the next thing I knew I had a stack of them cut out and ready to go.
Ah well, since my old leader/enders have all become main projects, I guess I needed this new one...

  7. Wow. I'm impressed with your pile of Easy Breezy blocks. Ive got a few made and one or two in process. I should follow your example and cut out a lot of blocks. It does make sense to have them at hand. Our weather has changed from rain to 13 days of over 90 degrees... the basement studio is wonderfully cool.

  8. I admire quilters who are able to split their focus between a main project and a leader/ender project simultaneously. I tried that ONCE -- and got so distracted by the leader/ender project that my main project was abandoned completely! Your blocks look lovely!
