Slow Sunday Stitching 11/6/16

I will be joining KATHY for a day of slow stitching.  I want to finish the outer rounds of this set of 3 color way.  That will bring the count to 21 rosettes and I better start thinking of how I want to put these together.

I have a quilt to baste out, too - that is always slow going.

And she asked us to share what lighting we use to help with our hand stitching.  I have two of these clamp lights that can be used any where.  The bendable  arm helps to adjust to best angle, too.  I have Ott light bulbs in these.  I bought the lamps in a local hardware store for under $5  and the light bulbs in Harbor Freight for a 1/4 of the price you pay at a quilt shop.  Yes, buy the bulbs in a hardware store and use them in any lamp - so much cheaper and they work just as good.

I am thankful for a good bargain - and handy tips,
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

  6. Enjoy your hexies today. I use a headlamp for hand stitching. Puts the light right where I want it. Around my sewing machine, I have a clamp light and an Ott light. It's hard to get enough light there.

  10. Love the colorway of your EPP project! That's something I have yet to try. Good tip on the lighting! It seems anything associated with quilting gets a crazy mark-up.
