Empire Quilt Fest 2016

I'll open up the photo session with the Queen of the Show.  This beautiful quilt won Best of Show, 1st large quilt, 1st handquilted, Best Use of Color, and was Viewer's Choice.

The hand quilting on this was just phenominal!  Such tiny even stitches.  I thought I took one of the name card - maybe it was one of the blurries.
* EDIT - THE QUILT WAS MADE BY JANET ATKINS - "MURDERERSKILL CROSSING" IS THE NAME OF THE QUILT *

The 1st place applique - large quilt and one of the vendor awards.  There were a lot of applique quilts in this show in all of the catagories and they seemed to be a favorite of the vendors, too.

2nd place large applique quilt, 2nd place use of color and vendor's award.

First place medium size quilt and vendor's award.  Love this one - so me.

1st place modern quilt, 3rd place Best Use of Color, and vendor's award.
We are having this ruler class at one of our fall guild meetings.

Sorry it is blurry - this was such a fabulous technique used to make this.  1st place modern small quilt.

I have more, but another time,
Sewingly Yours

  10. I saw on one of the quilt tags that the quilter was from Ballston Spa - I had been there 2 years ago on the way back from a conference in Saratoga Springs. Had no idea it was just an hour from Schoharie! Conference is in SS again this year - in just 10 days - we'll wave as we go by. LOL. I'm always amazed at the gorgeous quilts with applique - sew beyond my abilities .

  13. I enjoy looking at applique, but don't typically do much of it. That "My Enchanted Garden" may cause me to rethink that! Thank so much for sharing these.
