Change of Plans

Unfortunately the weather made for a change of plans and our outing for the Family Farm Day was put off.  I am actually glad of that as it got really wild here a few times (as well as other areas) and even took a couple of trees down on the farm.  We are scheduling another day together.

So I took the opportunity to finish cutting my indigo and cheddar project to completion and today I am piecing with a fury.  This is something I am squeezing into my schedule, but I have had these fabrics on the shelf for at least three/four years.  You can google cheddar fabric and there is such a variation and interpretation.  The solid is Kona Cheddar (chrome orange) and the print is an RJR 'Geared Up' line and listed as a cheddar.  The indigo I bought from CT long ago for a backing (and changed my mind) and was part of their in-house design 'Indigo Patchwork'.  I am loving this quilt already!

  AUGUST 17th

And don't forget the Pets on Quilts linky goes up tomorrow.  I still haven't convinced the furkids to pose with a quilt and our stormy days have made it poor for photos outside.  Today is beautiful so I am taking my 'pet' quilt out for photos later with a couple of other quilts with the hopes 'frick and frack' will like to play too - HA!

ALSO, I am quiet honored to be in the presence of such talented ladies - please go visit Podunk Pretties.  She is  hosting free tutorials by her readers and my Faux Braid quilt is offered.  Maybe you have something to share for a future post.  At least go over and visit and say HI.

Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

  1. I would love to be able to change plans because of the rain. First we had way too much and then......well....nothing....Feast or Famine.

I'm sitting here listening to Elly fuss....Yes we are babysitting Miss Lucky (granddog) this week and Elly is not in a good mood about it. Lucky ran off and hid in her box. These two need to get over themselves....giggle.

  5. Good luck with the photo shoot, remember there's always old pictures of those two since we all know how the furkids cooperate when we need them to, LOL.

  8. I like those three fabrics together. Not a combo I typically work with. Hope you were able to get the fur kids to present their best sides.
