Dandelions and Buttercups

DESIGN WALL

My design wall has been working with the Color Challenge for http://www.patchworktimes.com/.  When I saw Tonya's  posts on playing with Ricky Tims' Convergence Quilts, I knew I had to use this.  Since our heat wave/dry spell, all that is of our lawn and fields are dandelions, buttercups and chickory  - another variation of the colors in the Picasso piece.  So fabrics were pulled and on to the convergence process.  This will be used for our Quilt Guild's summer challenge, too.  So lots of embellishing is going on right now.  I am very excited about this piece!

CHARITY

I really enjoyed making these doll quilts for the Mrs. Claus project.  I have shown some other bits of photos in previous post - pulling orphan blocks, scraps - now my drawer of scrap bindings and one of my thread bins - I love thread, along with fabric, buttons, etc......  These 12" x 18" little quilts work up so quickly - pop over and check out what is needed and consider a gift to a child.

And Katie has opened the linky for the 100 Quilts for Kids as well as offering a new pattern (jelly roll friendly) and a give away.  If you donated thru Hands2Help - you can use those quilts, or if a new charity quilt, please post up.

WINNERS

Mary Quiltin' Grandma will receive the Coquette
Needled Mom will receive the Petite Odile
Carrie P A Passion for Applique will receive the Trade Winds

This worked out without me sweating and feeling bad - they all get their first choice! I will be sending each of the winners a personal e-mail for mailing information. Congratulations ladies and thank you to all my followers - AND, welcome and hello to the new followers.

CLOSING THOUGHT

"The dandelions and buttercups gild all the lawn;
the drowsy bee stumbles among the clover tops,
and summer sweetens all to me."
- James Russell Lowell

Sharon

  15. Your convergence is so neat and I LOVE how you've extended it to the borders. I am attempting that on my second one in a round about odd way. LOL, probably hillbilly style.
