Scandalous
What has blogger done? I am just too old for this stuff and I will carry on as always, but to have to post about security, spam settings, missing post comments and how to reply - this is all just too much.
We've sorted out changes to blogger amongst ourselves in the past, but sometimes I think these folks are nuts. I have had comment setting problems since the whole Google+ addition and g-mail settings. I post and comment where I can and reply as I can.
I rather be sewing and sharing. I forgot about these blocks until a bit of clean up revealed them. A lot of partial seams are going to happen as this is a real puzzle-setter.
I hope you had a pleasant and safe Holiday. I sat in the rain selling raffle tickets - maybe under a tent, but I still got damp and cold and very tired. Why not jump right into a quilt that has a challenge.
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon
Hmmm, looks like some hard work with this one. Tents are not the best for winter weather, or even in summer when camping in a gale!!! Believe me, I know. We even had a policeman come out and check that everyone was Ok the next day.
ReplyDeleteI saw others on instagram complaining of the same thing. Not fun. Anywho glad you are now warm and tackling that beauty. WOW
ReplyDeleteI have found that if I make the first comment on my own post, and click on the "Notify me" option, it will send me an email when a comment is made. It doesn't include the commenter's email address, but I already have most of them from previous comments. It is annoying that they made a change like this without any notice or explanation!
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon. Finally doing a bit of blog catching up! Your blocks remind me of licorice all sorts! I've seen some other people commenting about security and things but haven't noticed anything on my blog. Did you get an email or something? Hope you are keeping well. Hugs, Christine xx
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you said. So don't bother to reply.
ReplyDeleteI understand! I am not having the comment problems on Wordpress that those on Blogger are having, but I am getting sick and tired of all the privacy popups on all the blogs now!
ReplyDeleteOh, for some nice rain. It's dry as dry and hot - 91 degrees in the Tulsa area. It's forecast for 100 degrees this week. It's late July temps already this early this year. I'm ready for rain. We'd had very little rain so far this year. My yard is dry. With my fibromyalgia, I cannot pull the hoses to water the yard either. Interesting piecing. Sorry, for your rough weather.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree--I'd rather be sewing and after all, we are not "Techies" but quilters!!
ReplyDeleteI love your strip blocks--looking forward to seeing how they come together...hugs, Julierose
Once again, I'm glad I'm not a blogger.
ReplyDeleteThe promised rain never materialized here and we do need it. I'm hauling water to all the new plantings. And very hot since it's still only May.
No need to reply.
Pat
I am really sick of more changes, just as I get things figured out. Those technical nerds need to get a hobby ... like perhaps quilting!
ReplyDeleteOh, I like that! Someone told me a fix this morning (temporarily, at least) that might work. Haven’t actually tried it. Leave yourself a comment and check the box that says “Notify me.” If it works, you should then receive notifications of comments.
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt. Partial seams can be a pain. . . I think it depends on the size of the seams.
ReplyDeleteWow! This quilt sure got my attention! Love those bold colours with the black stripes. Will be awesome and I know you will handle those y-seams! Yes, I agree about the blogger issues. I'm just not techie enough!
ReplyDeleteCan’t wait to see that one finished, love those colors with the black!!
ReplyDeleteI agree....there is more to life than trying to figure out Blogger! Love that puzzler.
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a great quilt. It reminds me of licorice stack candies my aunt always served at her house when I was growing up. My taste buds weren't sophisticated enough to like them, but I can certainly appreciate how beautiful the combination looks as a quilt. The weather over the Memorial Day is always so iffy. Sorry you got soggy. Hopefully, you sold lots of raffle tickets.
ReplyDeleteI've been pretty slack in my blogging lately to come back and find Blogger has screwed up comment notification. Frustrating! It's the interaction that's the fun part. I love your rail blocks - I had never considered partial seeming them. Can't wait to see more!
ReplyDeleteIt is so crazy right now, but I do believe it will get better...hopefully! That puzzle of a quilt looks amazing!
ReplyDeleteSo I'm so out of the loop.. I'm always behind on reading my blogs I follow. bit of blog catching up! I'm like 'Christine' who commented I've seen some other people commenting about security and things but haven't noticed anything on my blog. Did you get some kind of notification?
ReplyDeleteClueless
Love those blocks! It may be a puzzle to piece, but it's going to be such a fun quilt. Unfortunately, I don't think Blogger had much option on some of the recent changes due to the new EU privacy law. I suspect the comment email failure was one of those unintended consequences. Fingers crossed they can fix it and not make all of us migrate to another platform.
ReplyDeleteIt's so annoying isn't it! So hard to adjust to ridiculous changes that break what works well for us!
ReplyDeleteI really like your new decorative designs! it's so beautiful so much and good idea on site.

I really like those blocks. I think we all are upset with the changes.
