Today is (like most days) is scrap day with SARAH'S inspiration to use them, manage them, and store them. I am more about using them.
While pulling my various project totes to line up for April organization, my abundant amount of scrap solids came crashing off the shelf. Well, some of it as there is more on the shelf.
Some left over Kona White JR strips - I buy a lot of those babies when on sale. Some colorful match stick rails for a charity quilt - remember the button is on the sidebar for Hands2Help.
This went together so quickly - just the top and bottom scrappy border to put on. Now I hate borders, but these will get done and I have the perfect back for it. A quick sandwich up this afternoon and it will get quilted this weekend.
I have lots of block play today. Solstice, geese, puss-in-the-corner, and the new Diary block. All of these are being made with scraps. I've been saving the Moda 'BlockHead' patterns and will start them in April.
A rainy day, a good day to play,
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon
Your match stick rails is a perfect charity quilt. I'm still trying to decide what to do for my second H2H quilt. The first one is yet to be pieced but at least I know what pattern I'm using.
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteCute quilt. I did that for a family reunion quilt, with the white in the center, for signing, and colors outside.
ReplyDeleteThose matchsticks make such an attractive quilt. Nice use of solid scraps!
ReplyDeleteSolids are my least favorite fabrics to work with, but your matchstick blocks are so great looking I need to try one.
ReplyDeleteWell, I love that colorful quilt. It's fun when you can put something to use like that.
ReplyDeleteSweet quilt! I have two tubs of solid scraps - need to do something like that with them!!

ReplyDeleteThat's a fun use of scraps. Very pretty, Sharon.
ReplyDeleteLove the colors jumping out of the quilt; it looks great.
ReplyDeleteHow cute ... you did great! I really like the pops of dashed color! I played with big scraps today. But scraps nonetheless. And a couple of orphan blocks that went with it. You're a good influence! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great way to use up those scraps. That went fast. Hope you can get in lots of stitching this weekend.
