A Day to Play

After a rush on some pattern testing (that quilt is ready for quilting) and before I dive back into the tiny bear foot print blocks, I need a day to play.  My 2.5" barrel was just stuffed full and I knocked it off the shelf trying to cram more into it.  So it needs a day right along with me.

First I had to remove a fabric holder so I could get that backing cut to size and moved out of the way - for tomorrows day of play.  He was actually more interested in the tape measure to play with rather than the job of holding down fabric.

I'll add to a leader/ender project to move that along a little more, plus I am pulling out all the browns because I saw .......

this over at Beth's on her Monday Making.  Oh, I love the movement of this and the browns make it so rich.  I have a LOT of browns.  In the barrel, in a basket, in a tote, on the shelf.  I need to play with brown - and this block.

So I need to press, cut, sew, and enjoy the day.

I am thankful for a day of play,
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon

  1. I can see that block in other combinations, and your helper, they have to be right in with the fun/measuring, pin finding. I have to hide my pins as Boris has been known to pull one out of a design board when it was on the floor.

  2. That fabric holder doesn't look like he's going to move easy, he has the look, good luck.

  4. Sounds like such a lovely day Sharon! I love days to play where I have no commitments, just stitching on whatever takes my fancy. And that rich brown block definitely takes my fancy!

  10. It was good to catch up Sharon. Sorry to see Lets Book It has finished. I didnt get to join in as often this year but being away a lot didnt allow much time for sewing.
    Always an interesting read here...xox
