Today I need to concentrate on getting those borders on my rail/colorwash project for Let's Book It. I hate borders, so this will be a 'kick me in the pants' kind of day to get thru these. Three borders!
To relax from those stressful borders, I will work inbetween borders with this project. Yes, I have another hexie project in the works. I've had this layer cake for a long time - even the wrapper and tag are gone so not sure what the name of this one is. I love blue, I love working with blue, and I love the feel of thread pulled thru fabric by hand.
I hope you are enjoying The Hop - so many great projects in the first four days and still more to come. Today's hosts are:
This is a quilt I made a few years ago and is a free pattern with Red Rooster found HERE. This one worked up really fast and used up a lot of scraps.

Oh my I love blues too - those hexies are delicious!!!! And I also hate borders - ugh!!! I'll be thinking of you today as you wrangle with them :*)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the Christmas Present pattern. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about borders as you do so you have my sympathy as you work on yours.
ReplyDeleteGreat Christmas quilt, thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteI dislike borders too, but not as much as paper piecing. LOL. I like your idea of working in between each one, however. That is how I break up those tasks I don't want to do.
ReplyDeleteI thought you were done with hexes, but that blue and white is beautiful so I can see why you'd keep going. Borders always make me think of you, I just left off a border on a quilt and thought how you would approve :)
ReplyDeleteI kinda feel the same way about borders. But they do make for a pretty frame on a quilt. Sets it off nicely. Thanks for reminding me this Christmas quilt pattern is on my short list.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I would like to skip the border. But, honestly, especially when there is a pieced border it adds so much to a quilt. So, get going and put on the border.
