Whooping Up Friday
I'm joining Sarah with Whoop, Whoop Friday. I showed these stars all over the house and managed to wrestle them into their center formation. Not an easy task all week as it seems for the last 2 weeks every one near and far in our family has been ill (including me) with either the flu or one of the several viruses going around right now. I have been chauffeur for a few to the hospital or doctors - and would have rather been napping on the couch.
Then I managed one border - then another day, another border...... I hate borders............
And then I talked myself into putting that third border on today. I wanted this done and fabrics picked up. I would have loved to take a full shot of this, but we went from a glorious, warm day into a horrid storm (tornado warnings) - and at 84" square I have no where in the house to hang it for a photo. This quilt will go into the tote for a finish in 2016.
This weekend will have very little sewing as we are rearranging (and cleaning) the shop for Christmas sales. Maybe I will get to some of those melon blocks for some slow stitching.
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon
Great job on the stars Sharon. It is looking really good. Hope you areall on the mend soon.
ReplyDeleteOh my. Your cluster of stars looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear you aren't well. Hope you recover soon. A nasty chest thing with a cough is going around here. I'm trying to outrun it.
Sorry to hear about the illness, I hope everyone is on the mend now. Tornado warnings? your town seems to attract every kind of bad weather, stay safe. The stars quilt looks amazing and you added three borders??!!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty Sharon!!! Your work is always so nice!!
ReplyDeleteI adore your quilt! It is on my to-do list for this winter. Plan to take my time making lots of stars. Thank you for the extra inspiration to get the pedal to the metal!
ReplyDeleteLoving you Star flimsy.. Hope you are feeling better...
ReplyDeleteStar blocks are my favorite. I love that you have two different sizes of blocks. I hope when you can you show us a picture of the whole quilt because it is georgeous. Take care of yourself and get better.
ReplyDeleteWonderful arrangement for all the scrappy stars. And for going with the scrappy mixed borders.....getting it to this stage is always a plus.
ReplyDeleteThat looks wonderful and I am sure the borders will add to it.
ReplyDeleteTake care of yourself too, Sharon!!!
it turned out beautifully! I am not usually a big fan of stars, but I like all the different sizes and styles in this one. Might have to add them to my list of something to try one day !
ReplyDeleteI love the stars, they look great. Hope the rearranging and cleaning goes well and that you get a little sewing time .
ReplyDeleteThis quilt looks so wonderful with all the different fabrics in the stars. Looks great.
ReplyDeleteWow this looks fantastic Sharon, hope the cleaning and tidying goes well today xx
ReplyDeleteI sure hope everyone starts feeling better soon! I also hope the weather calms down. We had quite a wind storm on Thursday, I was sure we would lose power, but didn't. I love your Star top, especially the different sizes of stars. It is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh Sharon, that is wonderful!! I love how you made all the different size stars play nicely together! Hope you feel much better soon! Whoop whoop!!
ReplyDeleteIt's so gorgeous. Sure hope you are feeling better. Mick has been under the weather ever since he got his flue shot. He's totally convinced it was the shot...:)
ReplyDeleteSo sorry the germies have been around lately but the quilt top is lovely.
ReplyDeleteVery fun stars. Congrats on getting all the borders on, that's my least favorite step too. Hope everyone gets and stays healthy for a while.
ReplyDeleteSometimes I forego the borders, because it's so much my least favorite part. LOL! So, kudos to you for persevering!! And you definitely deserved to whoop, whoop it up!! Hoping the 'bugs' stay away for the rest of the season and you stay healthy! :)
ReplyDeleteTis the season for the colds and flus... hope you all are feeling much better this week.
