Oh, I heard that joke so many times when my kids were little. This month's color for RSC15 is Orange and I wisely picked up some orange FQs last month when my SIL and I went to visit that new LQS. I don't do orange, have only scraps of it from gifted bags, and absolutely none on my yardage shelves.
I still owe you a tutorial on these houses - hopefully when I get a chance to breathe. I was in a hurry to get these blocks done so my SIL could use the large table I work on to lay out her newest quilt for basting (yeah, I am quilting that one too).
And the stars that go with those houses. This one is getting close to the number of blocks I need for a finish.
To add some more Orange for Feline Friday - Bella. Now this is the same size tote that Moe was 'half' asleep in. Look at that Yoga move to fit in so nicely!
I got all my orange bricks cut for the Then and Now (I think that's what it is called) quilt, but I will have to add the white squares to them at another time. Then I have enough to put this one together - sometime.
I am spending the day with my daughter and grands - soon they are all back to school and activities so it will be hard to get together again. I'm taking a basket of apples in the hopes of a trade for some of her vegies.

ReplyDeleteI love orange - the colour of autumn leaves, pumpkins, oranges, some sunsets. Where would we be without it? Now on to quilty things - your blocks have such a nice range of orange colour and will look wonderful, that punch of warm colour, in your quilt. Now orange you glad you made them?

ReplyDeleteFun orange houses and stars to match! I like orange it's so cheerful! You have a Dutch surname, but it's a good job you don't live here if you don't like orange; it's our national colour, and every now and then the country erupt with orange - flags, bunting, clothes! There's no escape!

Orange can be very useful. Maybe it will grow on you. I may just join the RSC next year, assuming there is a RSC16, and use your heart block. I'm amazed at the number of projects you juggle (and finish).
ReplyDeleteGreat orange blocks. I was short on orange until I made the Sunshine on my Shoulders quilt. I was picking up orange fat quarters at various quilt shops while we traveled. Plenty of orange now. It's surprising how one can fill up on a certain color just by making one quilt.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't an orange fan until the RSC. Now I want some orange in all my scrappy quilts. Love your orange blocks. My goodness your plate is full. I don't see how you find time to sleep. Take your time on the house block tutorial. Looks like a good RSC block for next year. A good row quilt blocks.
