The Weekend 6/19-21/15
I have been neglectful of my two furkids and they have been scolded too often while I have been working the commission quilt. That is now all pieced, back is pieced, and all packaged to be sent off to the long armer on Tuesday (she comes down to sew at the shop that day). As you can see, my grumpiness has rubbed off - look at that face! What is she watching?
If you know Moe, you know he loves to sit in boxes and the 'queen' is not allowing that. I left a few boxed quilty things out while I was working on the big project - something they could actually touch. There have been a few fueds over the last couple of days. So I need to spend more time with these two. (and I need to vacumm my rugs)

Since I have the big project wrapped up - needed some scrap fix!! I fell in love with Sarah's little 'Sister' blocks. I've made these before - in large scale. I had to re-evaluate what is in progress - three leader/ender projects using my 1.5" scraps/strings - hmmm. Well, wake up!! My 2" barrel was over flowing so let's dump it and play.
And quickly a whole bunch of colorful 9-patches got made. I pulled my container of lites that so desperately need a clean out, too. The yellow completes the color wheel - yardage off the shelf for the star points.
Since this month's RSC15 is light blue (I have a few in there), I did up the blue 9-patches first.

I was suppose to be vending Sunday, but Storm Bill is moving into our area later today and right thru the next 3 days. So Sunday I will be joining Slow Sunday Stitching to finish up this little piece. (and get all my rugs vacummed)
Hope you are enjoying your weekend,
Sewingly Yours,
Sharon
Those furry critters sure do require their time and attention quota, don't they? Kitties help us learn the value of taking "me" time and not letting others take us for granted :*) Glad your big project is done - I can almost feel the excitement of a weekend with just happy playing on the agenda!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you get to sew and relax. Hope all is well with the storm passing through.
ReplyDeleteThose little fur balls sure know how to pull our strings don't they! LOL!! Congrats on your finish.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your weekend and progress being made.
ReplyDeleteThe fur babies are soooooo cute today! You must play with them this weekend.
ReplyDeleteLove to watch you play with your scraps. Great blocks.
I also love to watch you play with your scraps. Especially when there are kitties!
ReplyDeleteLove seeing your beautiful blocks. Especially love that embroidery!
ReplyDeleteStorm Bill will give you lots of time to do some necessary cuddling, poor babies, so neglected :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't get too bad of weather from storm Bill.
ReplyDeleteYou always do such fun things with your scraps. Your fur babies are getting the attention they needed too.
ReplyDeleteGreat nine patches. Oh, Bill! He's wrecking havoc in so many places. Good to have time to give the fur kids some cuddles.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the furkids are looking forward to your attention!! The lil sister blocks look great...did u decide what to make with them yet? Or just accumulating for now? We barely got a sprinkle today...I guess Bill will be making his appearance for Father's Day. 😓
ReplyDeleteThe rain we've had this past week has been a blessing as the garden is growing by leaps and bounds - except for the beans which didn't come up and had to be replanted a couple days ago. Love on your little furries today while you slow stitch, and here's to a better week ahead.
ReplyDeletewow! beautiful 9 patches and stars!
ReplyDelete9 patches from 2 inch squares are a perfect center for lots of great blocks. Glad you were able to empty out some squares. The blue stars are a great start to your new quilt.
ReplyDeleteHA HA I just vacuumed. And right now MY kitty is rolling around on the rug trying to get some new shed on it as fast as she can. She says to say hello to yours :)
ReplyDeletePoor kitties. I need to vacuum in my sewing area too - but it needs picking up first! Love the sisters choice blocks. I really need to make some at some point. Thanks for the reminder to put that on my to do list =)
ReplyDeleteDon't spend too much time vacuuming. Sewing and playing with the kitties is much more important and fun. I love those scrappy blocks. So pretty.
ReplyDeleteI am working on using up my scraps too. Have fun stitching today
ReplyDeleteTime now for lots of kitty love!
ReplyDeleteLove what you are doing with those nine patches. Adding the yellow really made them sing. Thanks for sharing with Oh Scrap!
ReplyDeleteFurkids are such babies sometimes. They sure can pout and act all sad when they don't get there way. I have four, two dogs and two cats. I need to start cutting my scraps down into usable pieces. I like how you can dump them out and start sewing.
